Default Is the Rustler for Me?

Hi,
I am looking for a new truck. It will be my second nitro one. I am looking at a Traxxas Rustler. Please tell me if this car is for me. I basically just want to ride it around, go fast, and go off jumps. I just want to ride it in the grass of my backyard. I also want a truck that will have only break rarely. I dont care if it is a problem that every car has. Please tell me if the Rustler is good for me or not and a few reasons.
Thanks

not good for you! why you ask? because you said you didn't want it to break a lot. if you don't want it to break, buy a GT!

The only part you'll have to worry about is the rear shock tower. Which you can upgrade if you please. But to tell you the truth i bash pritty hard and I haven't broken the stock one yet. But I've already upgraded to alum just because my rusty will be all alum.

The rustler is a whole lot of fun. It's very strong stock. My car ran away on me because my batteries went out on my controller (stupid me didnt look at blinking light) and It ran right into a curb and I only broke one part. Now remember it hit it at WOT. Now thats strong. It can handle jumps great, and it has the 2.5 engine to get way more power then the GT for bashing and jumping. Go fast you say. Well if you say that the other stadium trucks are def cut out. The rustler can hit 51.8mph out of the box and thats not even with the 22t Clutch Bell (optional). And I'd say it hit that in about 4 seconds from 0. And for riding it in the grass like most other stadium trucks there low but just shove some spacers in there that come with it and you'll be riding plenty tall enough. And for hop ups, there's plenty. #1 Theres RD Racing Products which makes the best alum parts and quality.

If you get it, your in for allot of fun. It's your money your choice.

Heres what mine looks like after allot of bashing and goofing around:

RD Racing Shock Tower

RD Upper Chassis, RC-Parts Bellcranks, RD Rear Shock Tower

Enjoy!

P.S. Watch out for the traxxas haters, there are allot of them on these forums.

I need a better ramp for some more air. Those skateboarding ramps are great.. you can get major air on those, its a heck of fun.

Enjoy!!

if you care about racing at all, these trucks are not for you, if not they are fine.

Truly I dont care about racing. I just want to drive around, go fast, and jumps. Those are really all i can do due to the fact that I dont know where any tracks are around where I live.
Thanks alot and please keep your opinions coming.

disadvantages about the rustler:
-Electric Start Requires a battery and sometimes you might get really mad if you forget to recharge your battery. lol but usually one charge will last 15 times whenever you chose to run your car
-Rear Shock Tower is "Weak" (never broke on me)
-TRX2.5 engine is very sensitive and people who don't know how to tune are going to have problems. lol.

Advantages:
-Strong.
-VERY Fast, almost TOO Fast.
-Easy Start really is EASY to start.
-Very nice engine, especially for an RTR.
-Comes with Bearings?
-Lots of Available Hop-Ups.
-Nice trans
-Comes with a pritty nice radio for an RTR.
-Strong servos for an RTR.
-Dual Layer Chassis is GREAT makes the car much more sturdier.
-Radio comes Pre-Ballooned.
-Backed up By the Best Support for any RC car you can get your hands on. Traxxas is truly amazing in that area.
-Much more Gosh this is taking allot. You need to research some of this by yourself. Its you money you choice.

the rusty is gonna be fast, but it does not have good handling. 50 mph is overkill on a stadium truck imo, you dont need to go more than 35 to do some sick jumps.

Yah the steering is not great stock. But you know what. You wont care unless your racing.

I got RC-Bell Cranks and My Steering rocks now! Also put your hump pack in the front of the car then you'll have ultimate steering.

lol, beware of morons like this, they assume that all other traxxas vehicles are junk because the t-maxx is, dont listen to these people. ya the nitro rustler's only real weakpoint is the rear shock tower, like the other guys said it pushes like a dumptruck, it has great aftermarket support, rdracing is cool beans, rcparts is the cats pajamas. the trx2.5 can be hard to tune, but youll learn alot from it, and it has loads of balls. so you will love the nitro rustler if speed id your thing.
