If your engine is shutting off when you hit the brake then you may want to set your idle set screw on the carb so it doesnt allow the barrel to close off and kill the engine. The easiest way to do this is to start your engine and while its idling turn the idle speed adjustment screw on the carb untill the engine just barely starts to increase in rpm then unscrew the adjustment screw untill it drops back to its original rpm's. After it reaches its original rpm's dont turn it any further. The idle speed set screw will allow the engine to stay running now as the screw is set to only allow the barrel to close untill it reaches the proper setting without allowing it to close so far that the engine dies. hope this helps Jon
