Default Rust

My stadium truck has a 15 size engine and i took it apart the other day, i saw rust on the bottom part that rotates inside the carb and is attatched to the comm rod and the flywheel, the fuel/air mix flows here before being combusted and i am worried that it may spread around the rest of the block, HELP PLEASE cheers guys

The part your refering to is called the crankshaft, just take a scotchbrite pad and clean off the rust, clean everything out and then lube it with wd 40. I find if you use wd-40 instead of after run oil you will never have this problem.
