hey there everybody someone just offered me a hpi rush everything except fuel and glow starter for $150 would you say this is a good deal its used and has broken a few pieces but they replaced them and stuff and well im new to nitro if I get it will it be hard to get used to from electric? they said theyll keep that deal for as long as I want it and moneys a little short at the moment... but I could find the money so again is it worth it? thanks

i dont really think so rush's parts are quite rare and dont have as many hop ups options as the other brands. for that money you could go to www.****.com <<<<< the forbidden e place and get a rc10gt for around that or maybe an evader or rustler jsut check around your lhs's and see what parts they stock parts for

im not really looking for a racer or anything im just looking to get something I could tinker with and learn the basics of and make some parts for if one breaks I like doing that

If it is a newer Rush Evo with the Roto Start system, I would think it could be worth $150 in very good condition. If it is the older Rush, I wouldnt give him more than $100 for it.

The Rush Evo is on sale right now at Tower for $260 - $25 discount for $235.

For $85 more I would just get a new one.

Don't get a Nitro Rush, they're slow and frail.
get an RC10GT or a Nitro Evader or even a Losi XXXNT

If it's a Rush Evo then it's quick enough (40mph). They certainly aren't frail either.

Tucker, I OWN a Rush, look at my sig. the GT, XXXNT, and Evader ST are at least twice as tough as the Rush. Yes, any car will be bulletproof with enough aftermarket parts...but stock vs stock, i'll demo-derby your Rush with my GT.
The Rush would have been an alright truck back in '96 or so, but cmon man, it doesn't even have BELLCRANKS! Plus...isn't that T15 that comes in the Evo now carbureted by the same crappy single-needle carb? I know the RTR GT isn't exactly a powerhouse (remember, I have one of those too), but the truck itself is FAR better designed, and the GT is FAR better supported by LHS's.
I don't even want to THINK about how much I've spent on suspension arms and hub carriers for that thing.

I used to have a Rush Evo and now have a RTR RC10GT. My Rush was not slow and it was incredibly durable. It was actually more durable than my GT. The rear bulkhead, front spindle, rear 'A' arm carriers on my Rush never broke like the ones on my GT have. I still think my GT is a great truck, but there is a lot of misinformation and hype here about the GT.

The RTR versions have similar accelleration & speed. The Rush Evo comes with the new HPI T-15 with a 2 needle carb. I actually give the Rush Evo a slight edge in accelleration over the RTR GT where as the GT seems to have a bit higher top speed.

The Rush's direct servo steering system is very good and once you install a metal gear servo and a kimbrough servo saver its comparable to a bell crank system.

Im sure the RC10GT would win at the track because it handles and jumps a lot better than the Rush. That doesn't make the Rush a bad truck. It's made to bash and have fun.

Total cost of my son fixing his Rush Evo is a follows:

1 x suspension arm after hitting concrete post at WOT $8.59 set of all four arms

The rest of the changes were hop-ups

My son bashes his Rush Evo on the same track as I bash my Turbo Inferno and Kanai 3. He's had less breakages than me!

RC10GT apart, I'm not familiar with other cars you mentioned so can't comment, but I'll stand by original statement, the Rush is not slow (in a straight line his speed is not that dissimilar to my buggies), and it is not frail. Granted is does have a few weak points that could all be solved quiet cheaply.

I don't doubt there may be better cars out there, but if you're offered a Rush cheap is it worth getting? In my opinion yes.

the hpi rush is frail bendy and it if u think 40mph is fast u got something wrong 70mph isfast and 100mph is crazy

40 mph IS fast. faster than you NEED to go on any track.
the Evo is more than likely going to be MUCH faster than my old Rush, I bought mine shortly after they came out. My GT has proven to be tough as all get-out, maybe I've just become a better driver and better at NOT hitting things between buying my Rush and my GT, but I don't learn very well, so more than likely, I haven't. I'm only speaking from my own experiance, but having owned my RPM'd-out RC10GT, an X-Terminator, Traxxas's Stampede and Rustler, and driven countless other cars, there are countless other cars I'd buy over the Rush for $150.
I got my GT for $150 used in decent shape and bone stock aside from the body mounts. there are MUCH better deals to be had.

i would go for the rush personelly, or an mt2, i dont like losi cars and i dont really trust the RC10GT after seeing some friends bash it and hit a lampost going at not a paticually fast speed, but ive never driven it so i dont know what teh handeling etc is like.
