I have a Nitro Rustler, with a 2.5 engine. I have run about 7 tanks through it. I also crashed it when my thr. stuck.
I spent about 80$ on replacement parts to fix it. Now, The motor is very hard to start, and it will not idle, and will only stay running at full thr. What might be the problem.

carb neck leak,just sell the piece of crap motor and buy a new one or something else,like a new motor

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^BS, you need to set your engine at stock settings, and when the truck isnt running, tae the air filter off and see of the carb os open, if not or just a little, adjust your idle screw, to make the idle higher you turn it clockwise

pull the carb off clean everything and check to see if the seal is ok then put it back together, check to see if the head screws ore tight if not pull the head off and clean it look at the piston to see if its ok put a few drops of after run oil on top of the piston and work it in by turning the crank, then put it back together, reset the carb back to stock setting which will be a little rich, then adjust from there. I would try this before buying a new engine...

man shut up nitro rustler racer i've been in this hobbie loger than you and iknow that the 2.5's are crap and the carbs and ***** on them,you should replace the carb with the o.s carb

but have you ever experinced a 2.5 probebly not, so shut up, doesnt matter how much you`ve been in this hobby, you nevr had a traxxas, plus traxxas makes hard to tune engines, if you cant get it to work you dunt need to change it or buy a enw engine, its all in tuning, my pro.15 is as much pain in the ***** to tune as the 2.5 , beleive me, i tuned mine and mine freinds rusty, so i would keep my mouth shut if i never had experience

The Traxxas 2.5 runs good now. I think it was still breaking in. But, It SCREAMS now!

i have a n almost brand new .15 pro, and i also found out something today fuel don't last very long in storage lol
bought new fuel and it runs great . but those $%#($%@$*$ axles!!!!!!!!!!

if you think rustlers are built for racing then you obviosly have never drove one before, rustlers push like a shopping cart and come with the trx2.5, which is a .15 cu. engine and is not race legal. rustlers are best for bashing, once u get an aluminum shock tower in the back you will have a pretty strong truck.
