Default custom suspention

This is my customized suspention (the pic speaks for itself) i hooked up the shock right to the rear bulk head[sm=punching.gif] and now i have a lil more then 2 inches of clearance and more shock travel take a look and tell me what you think and if you have any questions feel free to ask!!

Thats because they pivot and there for boost the ride hight and give you more travel> It works alot like the traxxas revo suspention.try it on your truck it makes a big difference!

it doesnt look to good and now your shock towers are unbraced at the top just getting ready to break off...teh shocks help brace them at the top...so a little hit on them and i wouldnt be surprised ur next thread i broke my shock tower cuz my shocks suck

and if it botoms out liek in the picture that isnt too good for jumps

If you plan on running off road, you may not want to run it that way. For dirt oval it would be okay, but your rear end is going to be very stiff...

Even if i do break my rear shock tower it is not needed any more! Just try it just for a bit it works 10 times better and it isnt tight at all the more parralel the shocks are to the tire the more leverage and therefore easyer and better shock travel, Oh and when it bottoms out how would it be any different then if the shocks were set up normally??? just try it you will like the results plus u get about 1/2 inch or more of ride hight this is almost identical to the revo shock set up just the revo they are mounted the opposite way[&:]

to get 1/2 in off more ride high just get diff tires, an not risking the shock tower breaking, and u said who needs it, how are you going to mount eh body if you dont have it?

LMAO

Ok you get that extra 1/2 inch or whatever but you loose most of the stiffness of the shocks unless you fill with heavier shock oil and get stonger springs

Shock towers getting weaker? ROFL!!! Attaching the shocks to the towers does NOT make them stronger!! If you hit the shock tower you hit the shock tower and it breaks if it is to weak. It just looks weaker because it is "out there" with nothing connected to it.

It works alot like the traxxas revo suspention
OH man I think im about to cry cause Im laughing so hard...NOT EVEN CLOSE
Im not gonna get into the math of how the Revo suspension works.

Laughing my butt off from reading this: Priceless

I tried it it works pretty good, but In order to get the same stiffness, I had to
switch from 30 to 45 oil, and next leval springs. I dont do any raceing, just
bashin, so I cant give a "GOOD" answer on if its "BETTER"...

Don't you want your axles to be as close to parallel to the ground as possible?

Well this has worked GREAT for me and i dont have to worrie about my shock oil thickness because up here in canada my oil "auto thickens" because of the cooler temeratures.
so i find this works very well for me if you read this you should try it out it works well so dont knock it till you try it!!!!

Hehe..Exactly what I was going to say

I've set my shocks on their farthest in setting on the towers and they do not work efficiently at all. Suspension will come down and not want to pop back up. Can't even imagine how it'd be with them sitting basically parallel to the ground.

1. Silicone's viscosity stays the same regardless of temperature; that's why it's used...

2. By raising the center of gravity, you are degrading your handling, this is not debateable. Another degredation comes from effectively bring the rear wheels "in", thus narrowing the rear footprint.

um, NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! I know VA gets fairly chilly, but not enough apparently. I'll leave a bottle outside today and take a pic of it. it certainly does not keep its consistency. (I have two different brands on hand now, both are similar) after 15 minutes of running my truck I'm lucky if the shocks will even return to half the total height, they are so stiff....
