slide carb will give you more bottom and the rotary i think has more mid to top end but i would just get the one that your car is set up for and i would get the O.S. .18 its a good engine and very fast

I like the OS and the Epic... you really can't go wrong with either. Look at the threads in my signature, they have tear-down pics of each of these and a little info.

Actully slide carbs are the better of the two from what i know as they give the fuel a much more direct flow path, but i would get what ever your truck is set for as the difference isn't that big.

Slide carb is better how ever its not what is better its what your truck is set up for. Slide or rotary youll hardly notice a difference.

Eh..you will notice a difference. With rotary carb at idle and for the bottom part of the power band, the air flow is bent due to the carb arm's position. When it's at mid or high speed, it's straight. They are great for ST's in mid range where they need it to get over those jumps. Slide carb is better in low and top range. THIS DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO GET ROTARY FOR AN ST AND SLIDE FOR ONROAD. Some people who run CVRs use the slide carb one as they want all the power they can get. Rotary carbs are easier to tune, but if tuned properly slide carbs will prove to be better.

Did i in my post anywhere say that you wouldnt notice a difference? And did i say that the rotary carb was better. I simply said the the slide carb is better how ever you might not notice that much of a difference.

Well once again I guess it boils down to what a person prefers. That is why so many engines offer a choice of either. I do not think any one was saying you have to run one for on road or one for off road. I sure was not!

Judging by your signature you own a rc10gt meaning your looking for an engine for it. The gt is a rotary carb design (I think please correct me) so it doesnt matter unless you are going to change the linkage set up to run slide. [8D]
