I thought my spelling was bad and I am 50.Have you ever thought of using words, then spell check then cut and paste? No offence but I have read a lot of your post and it is just a challenge to figure out what you are saying.

You just spelled offense wrong so you can't really talk. No offense meant toward you either, haha. As for the question, I don't think there are any additives available to put in your fuel.

how much better can the fuel get than methanol and nitro. Does any one know where one can get pure nitro to make their own mix? I have got a old engine kickin around that would be interesting to run a wicked high nitro content in it and see what happens.

I will be the first to say how poor my spelling is but closer then a lot. Not trying to degrade any one but sum peoples spelling is so poor you have to read their post 4 or 5 times before you even understand what they are trying to say. Then sometimes I still do not understand what they are trying to say.

I just went to Towers and typed in fuel additive and the only thing that came up was additives to make the fuel smell different or oil additives to increase the oil content or I would think if you where mixing you own fuel. Nitro Monkey is there something in particular you are talking about? If so please post a link. I do not think there is anything that will make old or bad fuel like new.

If I am not mistaken the two things that makes fuel go bad is moisture and the evaporation of the nitro. Correct me if I am wrong.

You can probably get nitro from a dragster or racing track. Think there are a few places online to buy it but can't recall. Back in the 70's my dad used to mix his own nitro fuel. methanol, castor and nitro.

search for any place local that deals with gocart racing, they burn fuel similar to ours and racers mix their own. shipping nitro is very expensive unless you buy some fairly large quantities (drum size!)

Its been years since I raced go karts but when and where I ran they did not run nitro just methanol which is about 60% of what we run in our nitro cars. Even top fuel dragsters mix the nitro with methanol, as straight nitro would not work. Correct me if I am wrong! [8D]

i was think about making my own.
the top fuel dragsters are running i think 89% nitro
i go to the races every year in march and when the start up in the pits the only way that you can stand there is with a gas mask (got one)
every hair on your body stands up when they blip the throttle

May I ask where you got 89%, as I do not think so? I could be wrong but until I see somewhere that is a reliable source I sorry but I do not believe it. Like I all ways say if I am wrong let me know with facts. Been a long time since I have been to a drag strip, as I much prefer F1 or real GP racing. [8D]

You are right as I just did a search and the first place I went to said 85%. Shows how old I am and how long it has been since I went to the drag strip! But do not try this with the cars and trucks we run!!!!!!!!!!!!! 20% or 30% is good! [8D]

i think that was for ihra (slower) it is resticted to 95% in NHRA top fuel

In a press release dated November 22, 2004, NHRA stated: "In an effort to maintain parity in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Top Alcohol Dragster category, the NHRA Competition Committee announced a maximum nitromethane percentage for nitro-injected dragsters. Beginning in 2005, the nitromethane content will be restricted to a maximum of 96 percent."
