on the outside-take some denatured alky and get a bunch of rags tooth picks and q-tips along with the trusty ol toothbrush and pipe cleaners. This along w/ the elbowgrease will get it look spliffy w/the quickness[>:] also-i like to spray a little wd-40 on it after i clean it to repel dust.
On the inside- I do this after race day. Go home and get all the dirt out of the glow plug and carb area. Then pull the carb out and pull the glow plug out. Put a little denatured alky (use clean on this-do not recycle!) and swish it out a few times then put a healthy coat of after run oil through all the parts and the re-assemble.

Just have fun with it, bolt on a tuned pipe and maifold, run some 30% nitro and an A5 plug and save for a different engine...

No accually leaving gas in your engine will make it rust it is a very bad idea and i have the gx-15 in my kyosho ultima racing sports and i have come to sadly realize that it is a very poor quility engine it has great power....while it runs it isnt very realiable

kool_kid, if you have the stock filter and stock "can" muffler, performance is dismal, also the stock clutch gives lame acceleration.
Here are some ideas to help make your ultimas faster....
-Get a tuned pipe, http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXVG89&P=ML , this will be the single biggest improvement you can make, they add 30-50% more power.
-Install ball bearings in the rear hubs and front wheels, this will increase speed and acceleration slightly.
-Lighten and balance the stock flywheel, or buy an aftermarket aluminium flywheel, this really makes a big difference to acceleration.
-Get suitable clutch shoes for the flywheel you have, don't scrimp here, get some good carbon ones, and if there is a stiffer spring option, this will increase acceleration a fair bit.
-When the stock tyres wear out, grab something like proline tyres, if you run onroad and off, get some dirt hawgs. If you run offroad only, on fairly hard pack surfaces, grab some bowties. If you run in very loose dirt, get some tyres with large lugs on them.
-Grab a better airfilter, adds a slight improvement in performance.
If you search for the "Official Ultima ST thread", I have a long list of improvements there...

i have a tuned pipe i will have a better air filter soon but the motor has good power and the way its geared it has a great top speed even though it is geared for acceleration but im hoping to get a new motor before summer but for the winter its a good motor.
