Default breaking in new engine?

hey everyone. i got my st-15 on friday, and I was wondering, since it is winter an all, and I got snow where I am, it is okay to break in the engine? the roads are clear of snow, but it is kind of cold out(around 30 degrees). my dad won't let me break in my engine cuz he said it is to cold out. Should I wait until it is warmer, or is it okay to break it in? thanks.

It would be a better idea to wait till it is warmer outside.

Heheh... I remember when I got my rusty, I didn't even want to break it in, it would get dirty
But now you will never see my car clean [&:]

I will be worth the wait, you don't want to break it in and have something go wrong, then have to spend the extra cash down the road.

Let us know how that truck performs. Im curious as to how touch it is.. being Tower claims its built pretty much indestructable.

lots of people on the st-15 thread can testify to the durability. I've personally smacked mine head first directly into a curb at full throttle. (had a low RX battery and got out of range with no failsafe... ooops) It launched itself about 10 feet straight up, tumbling the entire time. It landed upside down and bounced a couple times, knocking the muffler away from the silicon coupler in the process (and killing the engine) Anyway, the ONLY thing that broke was the mount for the tension bar that connects the gearbox with the forward portion of the chassis. This is a known design weakness of the gearbox, and the fix is to just move the mount to a different spot, and it will never break again.

besides, replacement parts are very cheap compared to the trucks, and with a little bit of bodging you can use parts from alot of other trucks on it. People have already used a different trucks suspension and A-arms, along with revo dogbones.
