Ok. I have a fairly good understanding of R/C's in general and know my RC10GT like the back of my hand. This new problem though has me stumped!
heres the problem/symptoms:
Well I just got through breaking my truck in. It has the CR brake system (like in a nitro hawk w/leather strap pulling over a bell over the slipper assembly) and it works great. The truck has a brand new robinson racing tranny and all new innerds. The engine runs like a top but it doesnt get much pwoer to the ground. The clutch nut is as tight as all get out (over 80ft. lbs of torque on the torque wrench) and the cltuch is working properly with stock cut shoes. The slipper is fully locked right now to try and pinpoint this problem so thats not it. I am thinking its the rear diff gear. I think the spring might be loose. Here was the problems i was experincing:
-Acceleration was horrible. Had to feather it a bunch to get it to actually move and really revved it out.
-couldnt climb any real grade or cover any rough terrain like grass. Ashphalt only.
-top end was around 15mph with engine screaming.
-the slipper was locked up so it wasnt slipping at all.
-the engine is fine, i used it in a old RTR i had and it screamed and threw it around like nuttin.
Is my ball diff spring too loose?

Either the clutch shoes are worn out, or the diff is messed up. I had the same problem in my gt when i put it all back together, and it turned out to be the diff slipping! Tightened it up, and the thing pulled wheelies again!

the cut shoes maybe only have a 0.5MM along the bottom is cut. It is the whole length. The clutch engages fully cause its next to no weight taken off the shoes. Its just to help it idle w/ out lurching. I might take the slipper assembly apart and scuff it a bit and put a new pad i have around in. My diff is at the point when you spin one wheel the other goes forwards not backwards. Is that too loose or too tight. Its weird cause i have never had a tranny do this to me before. I usually build them and they work fine. I have rebuilt atleast 20 of them without a hitch. I put both bearings in. Use CR silicone diff grease. It has new very high quality diff balls and the diff thrust bolt has carbide balls (6) on there with the T-nuts and spring. It has the two bearings in the diff gear also. Outdrives are brand new and on the right side and the trust rings are brand new and polished to a mirror (worked great in all my other trucks)
I also put a harder spring out of a NTC3 diff and grinded it down to fit so it has mucho pressure on slipper assembly![

I think it'd be pretty easy to figure out if it was the clutch or not. If you're running 15mph with the engine screaming and the clutch was the slip point, that would be generating a lot of heat and you'd probably be burning your bell, and it would get discolored. If this isn't the case, i really think its something in your transmission. The diff may be tight when you spin the wheels off the ground, but it could still be slipping. I'd pull the whole tranny out and rebuild it. If you've got new balls and rings in the diff and they still look fine, then i guess put everything back together, just make sure you didn't do something backwards. We all make mistakes no matter how many times we've done something
What someone suggested earlier about holding the truck on carpet and trying to turn the spur gear can also help rule out some things. If you can turn the spur with the wheels locked then it isn't the clutch, its either the slipper or the tranny. Even if you think you have your slipper locked it could still be slipping if everything isn't in its right place. I'd pull that apart too and have a look at it. Good luck!

Do the test that I suggested earlier and also try holding the spur gear still and turning one tire. If the other tire rotates the opposite way and it feels smooth then the diff should be fine.
I once forgot to put one of the small washers back on that go on either side of the brass spacer behind the slipper spring...that'll make it slip lol. Also make sure you're not missing one of your spur gear screws(this happened to me once also lol).
It's always best to check the simple stuff first that could be overlooked than to go tearing into something like the tranny.

Well I know one thing theres no way in hell you would ever get that thing to 80 foot pounds not even 80 INCH pounds you would be lucky if it held at 15 inch pounds, now I'm not sure if you were pushing the numbers a lil but theres no way its at 80 foot pounds. The only way I'll beleve that it if you have the torque wrench on the little bolt and I can clearly see the read out of 80 foot pounds. So take a pic and show us I'm sure we would also like to see this.

Hi
Get the MIP 4in1 Clutch shoes and throw out those stock GT clutch shoes there nothing but garbage, and then you will see a big difference in how your truck works.
