Default MT 2 vs. Rustler

I am wanting to buy a mt 2 but i wont to know exactly how good they handle and how fast they are. im looking to be very competitive on our track. i race with revo's lst's ad t maxx's. I have owned a rustler and it would smoke all of the monster trucks just nearly impossible to handle, i figured the mt 2 would be just as fast but with four wheel drive it would be more controlable. thanks for the input

i had the same problem when i used to run the rustler, it would never turn!!! it would always "push"...but thats what stadium truck racers prefer, they prefer the push rather than oversteer. its also in the tuning of the chassis. either car will make a good truck...but the rustler has way more hop ups available. just wait til all the rc10 guys come in and start bashing both you and me for talking about rustlers

Truthfully, if racing, I wouldn't get either. Both of them are more of bashing trucks.
Even if it is with some friends.

never said the rustler was a racer...i said that stadium truck racers prefer the "push" characteristic in terms of handling...reading comprehension owns my friend[8D]

apples and oranges, 2wd and 4wd. They are two completly different kinds of trucks so that put aside the mt2 is much nicer, also, good luck getting an mt2 {or a rustler} in a mt race

i agree...it basically comes down to what you need in a truck. my rustler is mostly an onroad truck since i really dont go out of my way to find a place to run it on dirt trails and stuff. if i were to buy another truck, the MT2 18SS has everything in a basher i am looking for...truly an insane truck out of the box. i see its listed in your sig...do you have one or is it on the "next buy" list. if you have one...what are your thoughts of it? if i end up getting my money back from paypal for a possible fraudulent seller, i'm considering getting one, or just building an onroad racer...decisions, decisions...

mt2 .18ss, it's gotta be... I'm converting my old MT as soon as I can. These trucks (HPI MTs in general) are just great, it has to be said, the 4wd, the stance, they are just great for jumping, and as durable as any out there, plus parts are cheap. The .18ss is a serious bashing engine, I can't wait to install mine, but I gotta get some aluminium bits and upgrade the drivetrain first, or it's just gonna tear it to pieces.

On the subject of durability, I have to say that I have been bashing my truck for a year on and off, I'd say I only put about 2 gallons through it altogether, but I fly off the ramps, and roar it around all over the place, and the only thing that's farked is the body. I haven't HAD to replace ANYTHING. Now I just wanna go a bit faster and fly a bit higher.
