Default Ripping off glued tires.

My little brother has an RC10GT. he bought some new tires/wheels for it a few days ago and glued them together. little did he know that 1 set of the rims were for MT's!! so he came to me and he glued 'em GOOD. after 30 minutes, i had finally pulled them off. they look a tad haggard but seem to be ok accept for 1 tear in one of the tires about 1 cm long. can i salvage them and manage to get away with just buying some new rims and gluing them on the old tires? please post ASAP so we can know if we need to buy some. thanks.

A little late for your question, but next time, I've heard that you can soak the tires in boiling (or very warm) water, and the glue will usually start to weaken so you don't have to destroy your tires to get em off the rims...

Boiling water helps the glue bond breakdown. I noticed that if I let them sit for a minute after removing from boiling water, they will come off easier and you will not burn the crap outta your hands. Acetone will also help with the bond release.

Acetone works great.

You'll need new foams though.

Or you can put 'em in your oven for a few minutes at 160 degrees celcius...only downside is that your house will smell like...rubber for about 15 mins..

Could've done what I did. A few cartwheels to chip away at the cheap rim and it just popped right off.

if they are rear wheels, lift up your truck when its running, floor it until they balloon and floor it some more until they pop off. Oh yea watch out if they go flying towards your face.

It would also be smart to make sure the engine doesn't blow up in your face from over revving
