I'd hate to warn ya, but soon as an AE guy reads this post, this could turn into a brutal war. BUT, id go with evader. If the truck arms are still the same as todays, you might be able to drop xxxnt arms on there. Evader is a retired Losi model... used to be called the XX series.
Why i warn, 1: i said go evader. 2: its a retired LOSI.

This is how I rank the current crop of ST's. By the way, I have a GT and used to have a Rush. I am factoring in performance, durability and parts support.
1 Losi XXXNT
2 AE RC10GT
3 Duratrax Evader
4 XTM Excellerator
5 Mugan ST
6 Kyosho Ultima
7 HPI Rush
8 Traxxas Rustler
I would rate the Mugan up there with the Losi & AE if they had decent parts support.

I would get a mugen, I have not been Impressed with losi or associated durability. Also the mugen is enexpensive! also mst1parts.com has about all the parts you will ever need. They are about the most durable trucks I have ever seen and the also handle great. In the last 3 weeks of racing I have yet to see a mugen come off the track for repairs. I have on the other hand seen about half of the AD2 and half of the rc10gt's come of the track for repairs.

not saying anything against the gt(as i have one and love it) i sort of wish in a way i would have read up on the evader, it is faster than the gt stock , has the broken part replacement for a year, and is cheaper
i love the gt, AE's customer service has been great for me after 3 months i had a shock leak and they sent me a shock body, shock rebuild kit and stuff for free, they are great
