I agree with above. I was just thinking that, if you could find one that came with a 2.5 (some did a while backnot sure if they still do...?), the slightly lessened power would make it more managable, and also the 2.5 block would be more reliable. I didn't have a huge issue with the tuning itself, though it was quite tough to get it to hold one...
Thanks for contributing, mattster; this thread seems to have been dead awhile.
I would look to mattster if you want to stick with nitro. If you're looking for something with a cheap upkeep, however, get a Honda, not an R/C. (don't listen to a word I just said.)

the chASSie is hot racing never ever again if you can get the new era one its way better but hot racing do make alout of other great things like my steel gears in the tranny
but im gonna make my own lil bit longer chassie out of aluminum plate thicker then stock and mill it a bit to keep the ounds down as of now soon as i hit 64.2 on my gps it flys up on the wheelie bar skeakin of its made from traxxas revo alloy links and a rubber landing gear wheel you can see in the pic how its made very simple and lite and still has its spring in it from the rear bumper
and speed yes but its a runner up n down the lot

Those are Pro-line Moabs. They slow down the stock steering servo a little on the Jato but it really allows it to float over any terrain. I don't think they make these anymore but two good substitutes are Pro-line Badlands or Dirt Hawgs.

What is a good all around tire for a Jato that spends most of its time on pavement? I haven't ran it much off-road because the anacondas that are on it are hard and spin like crazy. (It's a great drifter right now). I need it to hook up better but also don't want the tires to wear out in 10 tanks. What are my best options? I have always had good luck with Proline tires, and my LHS always has a good stock, but I'm open to others. I'm planning to stick with the 2.8" wheels.

Buy the Jaco foams. They hook up ridiculously obviously but you can only strictly use it on asphalt or concrete. It hooks up so hard that it will pull to one side as I accelerate if I don't steer against it. I have ha. d way more than 10 tanks on them and they are holding up well.
