brakes. take off the spring, replace with a 1" or so peice of fuel tubing, then cut a papermate pen a little shorter, 1/16 or 'bouts. put the fuel line in the pen piece, put back on car. if you tighten too much, it wont work at all, the adjustment is somewhere in the middle. then put a "pin keeper" behind the horn on the brake side so that when you give gas, it pushes the brakes so they dont drag.

thanks for the info bro, works much better, you guys need to do this with your jato, you will be very happy!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I put a esavage bug body on my Jato. it was pretty easy exept I had to cut alot a holes in the back for the engine and it still overheats occasionally when doing speed runs. yes, I know how to tune.

You can get some good money on ebay for that stuff either as a whole or as parts. A rolling chassis goes for about 150, the motor would go for about 70, and the rest of the things as a parts lot. Or everything for about 225-250.

This brake mod works great but one warning do not over use your brakes to the point they over heat. I was screwing around in a parking lot doing high speed passes and braking and the two screws that hold the brakes to the transmission case heated up and melted out. I had to buy a new tranny case after that. Now I'm a little more carefull.

ive never had that happen. do you have a pin keeper on the brake rod so that your brakes dont drag when you give gas?

you need to run diff lube in the differental. I personaly run 50K from OFNA for general use and bashing. In my race jato I run 5K to 7K depending on the track. You can down load exploded views of the Jato off of the traxxas website. You will take apart the whole rear end to get to the diff and then take it apart to put in the fluid.
That should get you on the right path. If you need more info just let us know...

The diff is actually really easy to remove. I did not reliaze this at first and took the entire tranny apart to get to it. But i can save you that lesson.

Just unscrew the back 2 screws on the bottom and i then like 2-4 screws (not sure) from the back and the rear bumper and back part of the tranny case should slide out. Exposing the diff.

I check the lube in my basher about every other month. Just for cleaning and to top off if ever needed. About every three months I completely clean out the diff and put in new lube.
In my racer... we it does not get ran as much (two small kids have really cut in to my race time... ) so that one is just when it feels like it needs it...

I dont think that many people have jatos on this forum. Most of them use the traxxas forum. Also you asked for jato with a diff body which most people use the stock one. Here is a good place to see jatos http://monster.traxxas.com/showthread.php?t=295981
