Futaba s3003 Servo
I have a few Futaba s3003 servos, and they are only moving about 60' total (full throttle to full brake). Is this a servo issue or do I need a better radio? There is no adjustment on my radio to control how far the servo travels but I assumed it would always move to its full range, is this correct?
Thanks

The servo's do not turn 360 degress is that what you are after.
It's only 60 Degrees from neutral. You can open the gear and do a little mod to make turn 360 deg.Are you saying the 3003 only make a 60 Deg from neutral? That is the standard

RE: Futaba s3003 Servo
We are only able to get about 75% throttle and maintain a decent idle. Other wise the idle is extremly high, but we can get full throttle out of it. It seems like the servo needs to move more then it is moving. How do you do the 360' modification?
Thanks for the help

RE: Futaba s3003 Servo
Sorry i don't have pics maybe later when i get home.but it's easy. Hope i'm not confusing you.
Try opening one of the S3003.
You will see a gear with a stopper. It's the same gear that is produting out of the servo.
You can manualy move/turn and see the stopper/restrictor in action. just take that part out and file away the bit there. Your done. the servo will now have a 360 deg turn.
Make sure you have a spare S3003 incase you get confuse to place back the gears. So long you do that for a throttle use it's fine. don't do that for a steering servo. it will strip the gears in 5 seconds.

RE: Futaba s3003 Servo
I got that S3003 and she works fine for $11 but for only $19 more you can get a servo with nearly twice the torque and .05 faster. Ordered a new one last night, gonna be wicked!

RE: Futaba s3003 Servo
Doesn't sound like its a servo issue, its a linkage issue. Check the manual for your vehicle and it should help you set-up a proper linkage. If you're not using a radio with EPA (adjustable endpoints) then it can take a little monkeying around to get your linkage set up. Its hard to get both full throttle, and proper idle sometimes, but just keep playing with the thing and you'll get it there eventually. Like i said getting a radio system wtih epa will solve a lot of headaches, but you should still be able to get it right the old fashioned mechanical way.

RE: Futaba s3003 Servo
^^^ Good thinking
I got a lot more travel from the same servo when i switched from my rtr radio to a JR XS3 with epa. I can't say you will because i don't know if that goes for all radios with epa, or if it was just that my RTR radio didn't have the throttle/brake travel that other radios do.
