Default MT2 Diff Problem

Ok, I have been having issues with my diffs. I bought the heavy duty diffs but am unable to install them. when I screw the box to the big gear the output cups to the wheels wont turn. however if I switch it to a stock diff gear they turn. only thing I can figure is cause of the posts on the stock but not on the heavy duty. anyone else have this problem and know how to get around it?

Thanks!

Are you using these two gears

[link]http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LXTB55[/link] If you are they are the wong ones for the MT-2 or .18SS kit

You need these for the MT2
[link]http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJYM2[/link] These are the gears that come with the .18 SS MT kit. I have these gears and they are way tuffer than the stock ones.

Try putting a thin shim between the diff housing and the little gears, the ones on the cross shaft, on each side. Thanks to crashdaddio for this tip!

I think thats the problem they gave me the wrong items at my LHS. I will try ordering the one you linked to and see if I have any better luck. Thanks!

The new diffs should be 100% compatible with the stock diff case (A431). Sorry if this comes across as an "is it plugged in" suggestion, but are you sure you've got the screws lined up with the holes right? More than a few times, I've tried to reassemble my diffs and accidentally had the gear rotated 90 degrees from where it should have been. You can get the screws in, but 2 of the 4 screws will jam into the inner gears, stopping them from turning.
