RE: Duratrax's Overdrive ST is back!
I have two of them. One is a stock basher and the other has some mods. I think this truck has potential, although I wish it had a slipper clutch like the MT2. From the posts i've read - you can expect to replace the front/rear diff gears bc of the direct drive. There are some things that I found helpful. I put CVDs in the back. I notched the chassis to let the arms fully extend. I pulled the stock mill and pipe out for a trx 2.5R with a revo pipe. This way any body fits and the exhaust goes around back and out right in front of the a-arm in the wheel well. Sorry I don't have it in to show you guys. The stock steering is actually better than the aluminum stuff, which I had to machine to fit and work properly. The aluminum mods don't fit very well - I was disappointed with the fit and quality of the aluminum suspension parts. I had to shim each outside bearing in the hubs to get rid of the excessive play. I used aluminum 1/8th rivet back plates. I am currently working on some anti roll bars for the rear just for the hell of it.
For spur gears, the stock ones are 56/60. The maximum st 2 speed uses the same spurs, but different tooth count - 48/52 which you can get in steel:

Also the Megatech Tempest Gladiator is basically the same truck with only minor differences. They have a lot of parts that are interchangeable. The inside diameter of the spurs are the same so they should work - 38/42 tooth so it would provide insane topend. Tower has these in steel as well. I am going to try the plastic ones soon. Maybe it would hit 60?

Quite possibly, I have a Maximum ST with O.S. .18 CV-RX and an 18T CB and 52T Spurgear and it'll still burn the tires at take off and easily hits 55. I can't find a bigger CB so I can't make it go any faster
