Default new engine

i am looking to get a new engine for my hpi nitro mt. the original 15fe motor just doesnt have the power i want and it is hard to tune. besides that, it is loosing compression. im thinking of getting an OS 18CVRX motor. does anybody have this motor? if so what can you tell me about it? or another engine recommendation? any input would be helpfull, thanks

I have that engine, but unfortunately I'm waiting for the $$$ for some other upgrades before I install & break it in. I don't NEED to wait, but I'm trying to do a massive overhaul of my RC10GT. I want to wait until I can get everything else up to what I want. I made the decision to buy the O.S. .18 because of what I was told about the motor. They say that that motor has monster torque. Some say it's to much power for a 2wd. From what most owners have told me, it kicks a**. And it's only $99.99(+ S/H) at Tower. Hope this helps.

when you get it put in let me know how it works. my mt is 4wd, so it shouldnt be too much power, or at least i hope not.

That may be a while, but I may decide to sneak it in a bit sooner. I just ordered the main parts I was waiting on tonight(still have over $300 of parts that I want to order), so I might have the engine in next weekend. I'll let you know how it works out, be it sooner or later.

Have a 18CVRX in my RC10GT, awesome motor.

Be prepared to regear the pinion and spur cause the 18CVRX is not high revving, but, does have a ton of torque. I went from running 64/16 gears to 60/17 and my RC10GT still picks the front end off the ground once in a while. Before I regeared it would wheelie constantly and would top out extremely fast, now it is just about in the power band at all times.
