Default Any oddball ST's out their?

Ive been thinking about getting a nitro St, but I've looked at all the ones from the popular brands (AE, Losi, HPI, TRX, DTX, etc.) and dont care too much for them, the GT is my favorite but my uncle has one and I dont want to get the same as him.

Anyways, are any less popular brands making a decent St? Maybe Mugen, Schumaker (sp?), Hot Bodies, etc.?

I saw a 1/8th Hot Bodies St but from the pics Ive seen its more of a truggy, it does look pretty neat though.

The only Mugens I've seen are 1/8th buggies. I think Ive seen a Schumaker St in mags. but their site is impossible to find anything on.

Mugen would be smart choice or Hot Bodies because they arent that bad either.

I saw that 1/8 Hot Bodies ST at a track once, and from what I saw it was a really good truck.

the Lightning Stadium is a hoss of a truck.
as far as oddball trucks...
you wont find any GOOD oddball trucks IMO. there's a reason the XXXNT, GT, X-C, and Evader are mainstream.

The Kyosho Ultima series trucks are a little different. I have the GP Type R. It's a fun truck to drive, but parts are a bit of a challenge to obtain.

Go gas FG's ST is awesome....plus 45+ minutes per tank of fuel...cheap unlimited hopups...more torque than any nitro built...plus more than 3 times the size.

Ive thought about gettin a gasser, but I dont really have any room to run one or store one. My room is packed with cars and planes, so is the garage, heck Ive even got a plane in the guest bedroom LOL.

Going with an oddball truck can really only lead to trouble. It only means it is harder to get parts and service. The reason that those other cars are so popular are because they are some of the best in the r/c market.

that holds true with 1:1 cars, but not RC cars, since RC cars are owned by enthusiasts.
the GT, XXXNT, and the Evader and X-C are the top four ST's on the market in performance and durability.

Well just consider with a Nitro ST you'll need a field box unless your going to carry your extra glow plugs...glow starter and fuel bottlle in your pockets....so the size of your fuel box and Nitro ST take up more room than the gaser...Gaser's alot less trouble and 100% more durable and reliable and don't need tons of room unless you hopup the hell outta it...with the gaser all you need is your gas can, radio and buggy and your set....plus for $50/year for fuel/oil ya can run the entire season...do that with a Nitro.

Evader isn't a top ST neither is XTM Xcell...XTM Xcell isn't even considered cause of it's failures out of the box.

Top 4 which most magazines rate as top 4 are...

Traxxas Jato- oob 55mph
Traxxas Rustler- oob 47mph
Team Losi XXX-NT Sport RTR - oob 46mph
Associated RC10GT RTR - oob 36mph

badz, top speed does not a good truck make.
what faults does the X-C have? Because I can cite many for the Jato and Rusty.
You have absolutely no clue what makes a good stadium truck.

You don't own a Jato nor Rusty how can you post any problems with them? I don't see one Jato owner crying about their Jato other than tire wear problems. Yet I see hundreds crying about Evader's and XTM Xcell's....I think the forums speak for themselves. I also happen to own the Evader, XTM Xcell and Jato...and the Jato is the best of the 3 and it's not based on speed cause the XTM will beat the Jato in a short run but not in a distance run and my XTM and Evader both have OS .18 CV-RX's in them. I'm basing my judgement on broken parts and problems. The Evader breaks alot, bulkheads, control arms steering rods you name it and it's been broken, The XTM no different, except it breaks more parts than the Evader and Jato combined. Rear axle's.....differentials...frames...shock mounts...shocks...fuel tanks....

You wanna see how tough a XTM Xcell is tomorrow I'll post my video of my Xcell first breaking the header off with a small jump...about 10ft high then breaking the front control arm and hub with another small jump about 10ft....and you say it's tough? btw it landed on all 4 wheels but yet broke. At the local track the XTM Xcell guys who show up never finish a race. Odd isn't it...

And as far as telling me I got no clue...you got no clue you act like Mr Big Billy Badass yet don't own the best ST made the Jato so your not so bad after all..... Your a Jato Owner Wanna-Be

Actually, I DO own the best ST ever made
http://photobucket.com/albums/b391/T...t=DSC00387.jpg
eat it punk.
that AD2 KIT was almost as pricey as your Jato was...so don't pull the "you couldn't afford it" card again, because it's got $300 of electronics and engine sitting in it.
Just FYI, i've had a nitro rusty and a nitro sport...both licked.
driven a Jato, no effing thanks. I want something that can get out of its own way and not some RTR garbage with wal mart electronics and a trash engine.
the rest of the Jato might be good, but I won't find out until the kit comes out.
*edited again, apparently my link doesn't work
