Default Engine question

If you run into something and your engine dies immediately is it okay or is something wrong.[:@]

Default RE: Engine question

I would assume something to be wrong. Because I crash and my engine just keeps running. If something broke inside the engine you would know by the sound it makes before the engine stops. If pieces broke you would here them. Really, after a crash you should go over the car to make sure it is alright

I can't diagnose the problem. It starts perfectly but when i hit something particularly hard it will sometimes die on me.

I could be the carb just shutting because of the impact. Is your carb rotary or slide?

Mine did the same thing, turned out to be sloppy linkage to the throttle arm.

personally I'd be thinking that I wouldn't hit things, then the problem would be solved

it did take me a while to diagnose that problem and come to this conclusion though [X(]

i think that it's because of the carb closing. It's a rotary carb so it would make sense.
