Failsafe is a good idea because it an save you tons of money when it comes to a runaway. The steps to hop-ups is safety, performance, and then cosmetic. Many people perfer to do it the opposite way like noobies. Just follow those steps.

I would go with a venom failsafe. Really good company. get it and you will never have to worry about runaways again. A venom will cost you 24.99 and tower hobbies. There are other ones but this one is really good quality.

One of my first RC trucks was an original Rush and I still like running it often so I sure do not think they are a piece of crap! I do run my HPI MT racer and Savage more. Even though it is not really a hop up but more of a safe guard I would go with a failsafe as if you have ever seen a run away it is to late. I have failsafe’s on all my trucks. One run away cost me more to fix the truck then what a failsafe cost. As well as it ended my day of running that truck. Back then I only had one. All so a throttle return spring is a good idea.

Now for a hop up it is hard to beat a good pipe. On my Rush I have the HPI header and pipe and works well on my Rush. Much better then the stock pipe. There are some many pipes out there so it is hard to say which is best with out trying them all. It all so has to do with what type of driving you do.

Try it and let us know. Personally I think there are better pipes out there. It might have to do with the fact I am by no means a Traxxas fan. Just my opinion. Like I said I am running the HPI header and pipe combination and I am happy with it. I am not in to all out top speed as all I do is bash off road. Here is what I am running and some other pipes I would consider. All so please don’t shout.

With this header pipe is what I run on my Rush with a .15 nitro star SS

I run this on my HPI MT Racer with a OS .15 CV-RX

I am thinking of trying this pipe on my MT

I am sorry try this ribbed pipe. I did have the wrong one.

As far as the HPI pipe being discontinued Towers has them. I do think whatever pipe you get will work better then the stock plastic one.

I have both the Ofna and the Venom fail-safe and they both work well. I all so have a Duratrax, which is going to be replaced with Venom, as I have had nothing but problems with the Duratrax!!!!

The venom temp guard failsafe is really neat if it's within your budget. In addition to guarding against runaways, it will limit throttle percentage to a user defined amount based on a user defined temperature. It's obviously also a temp guage. I have one and have no complaints.

[link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Shop/ByCategory/Product/Default.aspx?ProdID=DYN6604]dynamite pipe[/link] this is what i've been runnin on my Rush for about 4 years, and it makes a whole lot more power across the whole powerband.

course, i paid a bit more for mine since it came with the header (i have an original rush and hated that stock header), but since you have the evo, your header is fine.

hi again

mrnubs- the vemon failsafe is just pushing my budget on a failsafe but with a push i try and get one if its got temperature as well.

jneey-nice pipe, but what do you mean by screams i would like performance not a car sounding like a hairdryer cheers great pipe

tunderbird- great pipe also ,could you help me because i have found an identical "compition" pipe from dynamite and its looks exacetly the same as the post you did, only
that its called a compition dual chamber pipe.
what the differnece between the compition and the sports??[sm=confused.gif]arhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

cheers alothttp http://h1071118.hobbyshopnow.com/pro...p?prod=DYN6605

the competition will help more on the top end, it's a dual chamber pipe unlike the sport pipe which is a single chamber.

I linked you to the single chamber because it's better for bottom end torque than the two chamber.

it depends on the pipe, but with the dynamite pipes, i'm about 90% sure that's how it works.
