Default steel cable in pull starts?

Put a .32 mm cable in my pull strart. Seems to be great. Anybody else ever try this?

NOT A CHATROOM!!! wait more then an hour...

steel cables in a pullstart aren't done for a reason... rope is used for a reason on pretty much every engine that has a pull start. ropes handle fraying MUCH better then a cable does. if you have a single strand of the wire break you might as well redo the entire thing, it is going to unwind and jam soon after.

I have ran about 20 tanks through it with no problem. also have machined a few parts for this application. I have kept a close eye on the fraying, this was a concern of mine like you said. But the cable is VERY high quility, stainless steel thin lay. Seems to be good

steal and plastic dont mix, the steal is going to ack like a saw and cut the plastic cover

just use some high tension fishind string
i used some 40pound test before and it worked fine
