Default Help with my Jato plz =(

Is there any possible way a sub par exhaust pipe could restrict an engines power? Or was it me playing with the slipper? I have a jato with the stock engine tonite it started making like a whining noise with crappy low end power and no top end...doesn't shift into second. Could the noise just be the crappy pipe? The only thing i did recently was put a fuel filter in. I clean the air filter and whatnot and take car of the engine like i should, any ideas why this is happening? The pipe is just a normal $20 one, I'm going to pick up an aftermarket one tommorow i wanted to something for the mean time. Any ideas would be great.[]

Don't quiet understand your post....you have a stock Jato? But yet the pipe's sub par? It's not the best pipe but the engine performs well with it...Did you change the stock pipe? If so it could be why you've lost power...but it can also be your not tuned properly...is it running too lean or maybe too rich? You've added a fuel filter...are the hoses tight and not leaking...a air leak can rob power big time...I'd check alot more before assuming it's the pipe...if your using the stock pipe I can promise you thats not your problem.

I meant i still have the stock engine not an aftermarket one...its a cheap aftermarket pipe that i bought for 20 dollars...the only reason i say the pipe because it really sounds like crap. It doesn't shift and it seems like it's dragging. It's not the brake either, which i dont even want to get into right now.

well The onlything I see is you've changed the stock muffler, then added fuel filter right?
perhaps the new pipe doesn't provide enough pressure to push the fuel through fuel filter.
Try pipe w/o fuel filter, trystock pipe with fuel filter. My jato is stock and running good, I'm considering upgrades but the Jato is so new I was waiting for the market to catch up, I hear that cvec pipe is great though

The guy at one of the lhs figured it out for me...the brakes weren't working either but everything is fixed now...he said the same thing about the cvec because i went to buy a pipe today and he told me to get that one he said it works great. Picked up the 5 cell batt pack which im going to put in the center batt box another gallon of nitro and some shock springs...i love r/c
