Default Brake Linkage Question

I am a newby at this stuff and i have a question. I have a rc10gt and it has been running pretty good, but recently I tried to dial in the brakes but I was messing with it for hours and every time I hit the brakes the carbuerator completely closes and shuts of the engine. If anybody thinks they can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Screwing the idle screw in will increase the minimum opening. This is what you want to do, but it doesn't take much. The carb shouldn't close more than .5mm to 1.5mm. If it doesn't close to an opening about that size, you need to adjust the mixture settings.
