My friend has a JATO. Now he has finished off a gallon of fuel with no problems. But now it will not run for very long. It will start. It idles fine when cool. Then you make a few high speed passes and as soon as you let off the throttle it dies instantly (I mean as soon as you let off too like just slowing down a little to make a turn and it dies before you even start turning). Once it dies it is hard to start. If you let it cool down a little it starts just fine again. Anyone know what I should tune first?
Thanks,
Kaleb

turn your high speed counter clockwise a half a turn run it around like that for a few then lean it out/clockwise just a lil bit at a time untell it sounds nice. try that and get back to me.

Shutting down and not restarting while hot is often a symptom of a worn piston/sleeve. Check the compression both when it's cold, and when it's hot (if you can without burning yourself.)
You can check compression by turning the flywheel by hand. Good compression takes a fair bit of force to get it turned past tdc. Bad compression it will turn over without much resistance.

faulty plugs yep yep, check for exhaust leaks, loose header/ bad gasket.. stuff like that.i had this one header for as long as i had my gt. i got the gt when it was a tub chassis. i guess it got warped for using it so much different engines and stuff. anyways it ended up having a permanent leak witch in return over heated my engine and burnt the piston and sleeve. on 2 engines lucky me there was no parts for a .18wasp so i got a .15cv that burnt up too. i thought it was my fault . i almost cried i burnt 2 engines and ive been doing this for how long i almost cried. so i checked everything out inspected it with a magnifing glass. i notice a carbon build up on the header "exhaust leak".. i went and got a new header but the cv burnt out quick one gallon it was done... i was breaking in the engines when i burnt them.. wierd but that leak was why. now i got an SH.12 for 129$ rear exhaust no room for errors! i love this engine
