the XTM by a long shot... just ditch the engine and pick up a decent .12 if you plan on racing... or a OS CV-RX .18 and a side exhaust system.

If your thinking of ever going to the track to do any type of racing the XTM by a mile. If your just bashing then either would be fine. If you go the XTM route go with the Racer kit and add your awn stuff as it is better in the long run since you will put in better stuff than the comapnies do for the RTR kits.

depends on the use of the truck, the xtm is more at home in a track, but can bash fairly well. On the other hand, the rustler is the king of bash. The problem with the rustler pn the track is that its soo heavy compared to other trucks, and the motor is too powerful to race with, but is veri impressive for high speed runs. The drawback of the xtm is the support behind it, not a lot of shops have spares, unlike the rustler.

HPI's rush would require a bit of tranny work, since they are known to be weak when dropping in aftermarket engines on them.

Well duh, you have a nice over-priced italian engine compared to the stock engine... Whats wrong with plastic shocks? Never broke a plastic shock. I have both a GT and a Nitro Rusty. The GT is a racing truck. It sucks when it comes to bashing. The nitro rustler is a great basher and it has great potential.

the 12 CV-r is japanese. and only $110 and the plastic shocks are only bad because they leak and then air gets in them and they dont work so good, and the only springs available for the front is too hard.
