the XTM by a long shot... just ditch the engine and pick up a decent .12 if you plan on racing... or a OS CV-RX .18 and a side exhaust system.

all u gotta do is pick an engine, radio gear, and an exhaust system. Its cheaper going this way than the RTR method.

If your thinking of ever going to the track to do any type of racing the XTM by a mile. If your just bashing then either would be fine. If you go the XTM route go with the Racer kit and add your awn stuff as it is better in the long run since you will put in better stuff than the comapnies do for the RTR kits.

Please do yourself a favor and get the Rustler. Fassssttt. 55+ MPH... crazy speed. Best engine out there. Tough as h$%#. It's very easy to get parts for.

are all of you smoking something (hook it up) seriously thought get a rc10gt very durable and fast, have anyof you seen any one drive ether at a profesional event.........................................didn t think so pro drivers wouldnt be caught dead with eather and i personaly have 2 xcelerators and a nitro rustler and my gt is better than both combined, i will give the rustler one thing it is insanly fast ive torn 3 tires off the rim but other than that gts motor is very decent

depends on the use of the truck, the xtm is more at home in a track, but can bash fairly well. On the other hand, the rustler is the king of bash. The problem with the rustler pn the track is that its soo heavy compared to other trucks, and the motor is too powerful to race with, but is veri impressive for high speed runs. The drawback of the xtm is the support behind it, not a lot of shops have spares, unlike the rustler.

Rustler is one of the weakest ST's i have personally driven. The suspension arms, drive shafts, the transmission itself, the terrible traxxas engine that comes with it, the shocks... i could go on listing all the problems with the rustler.

HPI's rush would require a bit of tranny work, since they are known to be weak when dropping in aftermarket engines on them.

Rustler is a recipe for disaster... especially for a newb to rc, or someone planning to race.

Well duh, you have a nice over-priced italian engine compared to the stock engine... Whats wrong with plastic shocks? Never broke a plastic shock. I have both a GT and a Nitro Rusty. The GT is a racing truck. It sucks when it comes to bashing. The nitro rustler is a great basher and it has great potential.

the 12 CV-r is japanese. and only $110 and the plastic shocks are only bad because they leak and then air gets in them and they dont work so good, and the only springs available for the front is too hard.

I wasn't talking to you anyway. Any shock springs will work on the shock if they're made for stadium trucks.

Thank you. Plastic seems lighter anyway. Nowadays they have kryptonite coated, super molecular titanium carbon shocks... It's like come on guys, lets stick to the basics.
