I am thinking about switching to traxxas top fuel 33%. I have ran about a 1.5 gallons through my jato. I used 20% blue thunder. Would switching to Traxxas top fuel make a big difference in performance. What would switching fuel do to my engine. I heard its not good to switch fuels for some reason.

switching fuels wont hurt your engine, but make sure you reset the needles to the break in settings and run it rich for a few tanks. after that you can lean it out for more performance.

the, 'dont switch fuels youll have to break it in again' line is bull, its just not true, go ahead and switch fuels, but remember new fuel will require a retune, so richen it up before changing over, to be on the safe side. then just tune it back to running temp and youll be fine. another 13% will give a very noticeable difference, yes.

hes right about the rich but not for tanks, for minutes, until it is leaned back out to the correct operating temp

You should maybe ask around here and in the Traxxas monster truck forum if going to 33% requires an extra head shim on the 2.5.

Dann: Edited your post to make it a little more kid-friendly, small change.

dont run 33% its not good for your engine...to much nitro decreases your engine life by a lot.
