nitro mt to rc10gt engine swap
hi everyone. i am starting to get back into rc cars after being out for a few years. i bought an os 15 cvrx for my nitro mt and just barely got it broken in then i stopped playing with my cars. well i decided i want to swap that motor to my rc10 but the flywheel mounting is different. i dont know how to explain it in words but someone who has seen both will know what i am talking about. is it possible to mount the os motor on my rc10?

RE: nitro mt to rc10gt engine swap
the os prolly has a short crank compared to the factory ae engine which has a long crank....can't remember the name of the part, but it basically screws onto the shaft against the flywheel, and makes the shaft longer so you can put the clutch bell on..... so yes it will fit on an rc10... i had the same trouble when i bought my os.15.....lol
i THINK this is what you are asking... if it isn't then i have no idea....

go to www.RC10.com
associated has a step by step tutorial on cutting the crank on your LONG crank .15CVX to fit in your RC10GT. you'll also need the clutch nut, just search Tower for "RC10GT clutch nut"

minimus, can you take a picture of the 15CV? I've got a feeling it had a long crank, since it was in your HPI truck.
if it IS indeed the short crank, the only thing you need is the crank nut for a standard-short crank.

here is the engine

except mine has a pull start(dont think that makes a difference)
EDIT: ok it is the long crank. i was thinking it was a short crank because of the stock motor's crank. like i said its been a while and i am having to re-familiarize myself with things. so all i have to do is cut the crank down and put the new clutch nut on?
