Alright, I'm probaly going to order an rc10 gt rtr as my first nitro pretty soon, as ive heard good things about it. I like electric and all but im kind of tired of charging batteries, waiting for everything to cool, etc. Im also yearning for more speed...but is the maintenence on these things overwhelming? Ive read many articles about nitro maintenence and they all say to do all this maintenence like pre-run and post-run maintenence and it just seems overwhelming. And the tuning looks kinda tough...but I really want to try nitro and Im hoping the rc10 gt is a good starter truck. Would there be anything that I would need to get as extras like glowplugs etc.? Also what kind and brand of glowplugs and fuel should I use? Thanks.

it depends on how well you keep your r/c's in check? im a freak about keeping everything clean and tip top for racing. after every race weekend i strip it down and cheack it over. i pull the motor and check the clutch/bearings,spray simple green on the arms and staying away from the eletronics, blow it off and wipe it down. about every 3rd wk i check the shocks. its not that bad and your driving skillzz are gonna keep it together.
some just throw it in their trunk and forget about it until the next race???
MAXYS,BYRONS,O'donnell all in 20% nitro are good, as for the plugs it depends on the motor ,just ck w/ the hobby shop and get a few extras.

Alright thanks, is the rc10 gt a good choice for a newbie to nitro? I read threads that said great things about it for a newbie, but those were old threads, so maybe there could be a better truck now for the money? Im not a clean freak but I do like to keep them clean. I wont be racing it, just backyard bashing and it will probaly see more street than anything...

any stadium truck is pretty much a good newb truck, and the rctogt is a well proven one. Everyone has one so finding help shouldn't be a problem.
aS FOR EXTRA STUFF TO BUY:
glow plugs
glow plug igniter(get a good rechargble kind)
spur gear
airfilter oil
afterrun engine oil(a few drips throught the glow plug hole and through the carb opening)
failsafe
receiver battery (AA cells run out of juice quickly)
