my friend has one, so i know a little bit about it.
pros:
fast
durable
good ground clearance
FAST AGAIN!
cons:
engine hard to tune
double chassis makes for more involved maintenance
doesnt have a reciever box (just a balloon)
hope this helps![8D]

The good things about the nitro rustler are its fast, bad things are it flips alot, the engines hard to tune, the chassis is thin, it requires alot of matience, It handles really bad ive had one, i hated it soo much i sold it, id recomend the rc10gt, its easer to tune thean the rusty, it has one thick chassis.

i have the evader and i think its more suited to the beginner. its easy to work on and ive found the engine easy to tune. im on my fourth gallon for the stock engine and i havent touched the needle settings in about a month and its tune is still perfect. i will upgrade to the os .18 cv-rx, though. i should have it by next year.

The rustler is a great truck for someone just starting out. It was my first off-road truck. Many people do not like the 2.5, but I think it is a great motor. Yes you do have to re-tune it with weather changes and such, but if you take the time to get to know the motor you will not have trouble. I still have the 2.5 in my Rusty and my Maxx. The only reasion I took it out of my Jato is because it just has too much power for the track I go to. I went down to a .12
But back to the Rusty. There is lots of aftermarket support and parts are easy to find.
Again I think it is a good starter truck.

I still drive it and its fun although i have turned it into a street car. as said before it does flip alot and it has no recever box. the good things about it is it is durable i have had it for 2 years and never broke aything. the motor is still good adn i have put a bout 30 gallons through it. THe thing is very lite good suspention and sometimes hard to start. It is super fast and soo fun to drive. great biginner car.

it does about high 30's stock, which is perfect for the beginner. after i learned to drive it i bought the evader bx gears and put proline dirt hawgs on it, now it keeps up with my friends rustler. heres a pic of mine with its new body.
