They are fast, and reliable. I started with one, and only had a few minor problems since i had no idea how to tune. The only thing to look for though is it will need a new steering servo the stock one isn't strong enough. For pics look in my gallery.

Well i have a complete set of arms i can sell you for cheap, i just don't run them anymore. Also that servo will work, but it is pretty slow.

The pullstart shouldn't get in the way, and the hitec is better because it is faster. In a stadium you want around a .15 or lower transit time, and around 90 oz.-in. of torque. Also for a pipe you could try the associated factory team pipe.

the evader is a pretty sweet truck. my friend has one and he loves it. the engine it comes with is fine in our opinions, and its easy to get good os replacement engines for it that will drop in pretty easily. the steering servo is fine if hes not going to be racing or anything. a lot of people are just used to super fast response. he should be fine with it in my opinion. the evader has A LOT of torque stock. my friend does insane doughnuts with his and its stock but for a few tranny upgrades and such. its nice and light. it has nice suspension. a very nice price too. it comes with everything basic he'll need except for fuel i think. extreamly upgradeable as well. another bonus is the chasis. its pretty thick aluminum with those little bends on the end so its super strong. its a pretty tough truck. my friend has broken very few parts and nothing really serious. the os it comes with is super reliable and really easy to tune. overall it is a very good truck. i will stop ranting and raving now.

if you are only going to charge the hunp pack then those chargers would be overkill

The first thing u should do is get a different glow plug starter. I did know about the Starter and i almost sold the truck for that. THen i got a re-charbile stater about $17. The next thing i would do is buy a eletric starter. The pull start is very hard to prime the engine to start it. Good luck and chack the truck once and a while to make sure niothing is lose or broken.

I guess I'm one of the only one's who is very pleased with the Evader the way it comes (aside from unclezesta and his friend). The only thing I would change is the Diff. I updated mine to Aluminum and it's been a great truck. The stock engine is very user friendly. Easy to tune easy to start. As long as mine is tuned correctly for the weather it will start within 3 pulls. I just rebuilt my engine and that was after I had ran a little over 3 gallons on the engine. Even then it would still fire up and run, but as soon as I hit the brake it would die. I'm now a Gallon into the re-built one and the compression is better then when I first got the truck. It cost all of 51.13 to re-build and thats only because I got all the gaskets, coonecting rod and piston pin. The piston and sleeve are only 31.00 threw tower. The only times I've broke parts is due to my own abuse and neglect. This truck has never fallen apart because of poor craftsmanship or poor quality of parts. I replace any thing I brake with duratrax parts. I think this would be a very good first truck. I would also stick with the pull start. It gives you such a better feel for the engine and what it's doing. Just keep up with maintance and cleaning it every now and then and it will kepp going and going and going.

I do agree to buy you a good Glow Ignitor. The one they provided is trash.
