Hey I have a nitro rustler with the pro .15 engine. My truck seems to run fine but it is my first truck so I wouldn't beable to tell if there was a problem really unless it was with performance. My question is is there anyway to make the glow plugs last longer? I put a brand new plug in my truck a week ago and ran a couple tanks of nitro through it then about 4 days later did again, but yesterday I was gonna go bashin and my glow plug was dead and I had to put in a fresh one. Could there be something wrong with my truck that would make the plug barely last or do they just not last very long. I use after run oil and store my truck in my basement, It was kind of cold the second time I took my rustler out so I had to run him a little rich so I wonder if that could have ruined the plug. Also I was running a traxxas glow plug I got from my LHS.
If there is no way to get them to last longer then does anyone have a good website to buy plugs like in bulk maybe for a little cheaper price. thanks

It sounds like you are too lean from my understandings. My glow plugs last about as long as my engine lasts. Once you get the right tune, your glow plug will last for ever just about.

I was thinkin that might be the problem, I am still new to tuning the carb and I have been reading as much as I can on it but it can still be tricky. It's hard for me to set the high speed needle, I'm not sure what to listen for or look for. When I have my truck floored and it bogs like it wants to die I richenit up but thats like the only thing I know about setting the H.S.N. other than that I am just guessing and hoping it sounds good.

I am having the same prob, mine tries to bog out at full throttle.. So richining it is the thing to do for that? cool. Also, i thought i read somewhere that you never want to store your engine anywhere where its cold for more than a day or so maybe less. Prolly dont solve your prob but jus a lil advice.

the cold could be it. if you start up your engine after its been pretty darn cold, the change in teperature might be enough to make it the glow plug die. (expanding and contracting metals in different temps). you may have just had a bad plug. has this happened before? a lot? if you are running your engine too lean it may damage the plugs. (leaner generaly = hotter, incase you didnt know)
dont take that the wrong way, i have no idea were your knowledge level on this stuff is. ive had mine for a year and a half now and im still learning.

the reason why all your engines are bogging out is because its to lean
richen it out about half a turn,
the reason why its doing it is because when you give it gas it cant get enough fuel
to the engine so it will seam to bog down but really its not bogging down its starving for fuel
bogging down is when its to rich (it fuels up),
so try not to run your engine to lean it will really kill it

Typically a rich run will not kill your plug.
Figuring out what is causing it to "Bog" over the internet is very hard, Shoot figuring it out while it’s in your hands is tough sometimes. It could be lean, it could be rich, and running it lean will cause the plug to die sooner, Also running the wrong heat range plug/nitro% combo will kill plugs too. When it's bogging, is there a lot of smoke?
If you have a well tuned motor the plug will last a very long time, up to a gallon or even more is very possible.
The question is what does the dead plug’s filament look like coming out of the engine?
If it grayish/white and frosty looking, that’s the sign of excessive heat aka lean mixture
Fix- richen the needles
If it’s shiny but disfigured/smashed or god forbid missing, that’s a sign of pre-ignition (which will also cause a bog at high rpm)
One way to tell this is, If it’s very finicky to tune the high end, In other words if it seams too lean or too rich by moving the needle just a little either way
Fix-run a colder heat range plug or shim the head if you’re running higher nitro,
Good luck
