In what way was the sound different? I used to point the stinger down until I noticed on my driveway a pile of oil then a nice line of it. Even though they wash away with the next rainfall, I ended up changing it. Just a matter of personal preference.

I'll be te first to say that that might not be a good idea. Yea it might keep the oil off of your tires, but when you hit the ground off of a jump, you can count on dirt plugging up that exhaust port.

I agree with willy. I have a rustler and it had a 360 stinger coming out the back and every time it flipped end over end it would plug up and kill the engine.

thanks again
oh and i got this idea from the savage and i understand that its stinger goes thought the bottom as well, so what
happens if the savage rolls over?

The Savy does have the sting pointing down, but go to www.hpiracing.com and look at the pictures of it. It can't hit the ground beacuse of where it is mounted on the chassis. The chassis will hit the ground before the pipe will.

looking at it again i don't think you can hit it on the ground unless you tried really hard. It isn't sticking down as far as it was last night. lol..or i didn't have my glasses on right..

so now instead of it blowing on your tires its going to blow on the chassis and on the rear arm ....i have a savvy and what a pain everytime i pick it up i just get full of crap and i have a exhaust defector on it ... my nitro rustler blows right down the side of the body but no biggie ... i cleaned it up really good one day and put a coat of car wax on the body so now all the oil just wipes right off

i did have a deflector on there, but Ive herd that it can put your tuned pipe out of tune.
not sure if that true or not?

I believe all of the tuning in the pipe happens before the stinger. As long as the deflector is not restricting exhaust flow it should be good.
