Default rustler engine

what would be the best engine to put in a rustler besides the 2.5. It does not have to be insane but i do want decent torque and top speed. I just want something that is really reliable and easy to tune. this truck is going to be more for my wife than for me but i still want it to have some grunt incase i decide to drive it.

thanks
Matt

but there is only 1 problem with that!! the rustler is already to squirrelly with the engine it already has i would not get that cuz then it would be even more squarely!! if i was u i would get the OS .12 or the .15 not the .18 cuz of the squrrly part!!!!! dont get the .18 i mean the engine already has a .15 in it so if u put a .18 u probably couldnt even control it!!! I'm serious here don't get it!!!

I run the OS .12tz in my rush and rustler. It has crazy torque and hp. If your looking for somthing that will run good, hold a tune and start right away, OS is the way to go, maybe not the tz line, but the cv line is good, priced right too.

Regular .12 CV. Runs awesome with the stinger. Very noisey though. Anything over .15 in a 2WD is just a waste.

I'm not certain about the 2.5 Rustler (as far as the engine mount/ clutch setup). I know that from the Pro .15 Rustler that the engine mount had to be modified a little with a dremel for recoil starter clearence. The stock clutch fit on the O.S. with no problems. The rear-exhaust stinger will only fit blocks with the standard, rectangular, side exhaust hole. You won't find a 360 setup for the 2.5, side exhaust is the popular thing now.
