OS 18TZ IN XXX-NT
Ok I have decided that im going to put a engine in my xxx-nt. I have 240 dollars and thats IT! I need clutch, clutch bell. Ect. What would be a great engine? Im gonna bash so I dont need it to be legal in races. I want to just bolt it on the car, I dont want any trouble. What would I need? Will the stock mounts work? Ect.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend that motor for a stadium truck. It is just too much power. You will only be putting more stress than needed on your truck and parts will fail. The .18 CVR is a lot more conservative but still you will feel that it has too much power. If you "don't want any trouble" as you put it, don't get that motor, it will give you headaches as parts fail.

RE: OS 18TZ IN XXX-NT
I have the O.S .18cvr in my xxx-nt. It's a direct bolt in so no modification to the truck or engine. The engine has tons of power more then enough for the truck. It has more then enough power to do wheelies if you so choose to. Very easy to tune, I couldnt imagine the .18tz in a xxx-nt, The cvr has more then enough power for bashing.
And for the mach .15 hahahaha nice joke. I ran mine for about a gallon and that thing took a sh#t on me. I took in apart and found the chrome on the sleeve to be well none existent. But yeah thanks for the laugh

RE: OS 18TZ IN XXX-NT
personally i would run a .12tz it revs alot higher but it is more of a racing engine.
i had a .18cvr in there and i balloons your tires to much, especially when your racing.

I wouldn't recommend any $200+ engine for bashing, regardless.
.12CVR, bumpstart version is $99.99 (or therebouts) at Tower, and find yourself a used starter box

But for the extra $5 dollers you can have yourself w a .18 cvr. there both great engines.
Team losi is best / he's bashing so he really wont have to worry about that to much
But i would do what thunderbirdjunkie said get a starter box

RE: OS 18TZ IN XXX-NT
Thats exactly what i have in my xxx-nt. It's a direct drop in/ you can use the same clutch and everything. Although i would put some locktite on the shaft when you put the clutch nut on. Mine came loose a couple of times. And when you brake it in you may have to use a hair dryer to heat the head block up a little to give it some slack so the starter box can turn it over// At least i had to.
And thats a good price. cheaper then i bought mine for. i mean mine was only a few dollars more but still.

The engine doesnt cost $190. The total cost would be around $190 if he bought the starter box with it. But the engine only cost $99. But yeah with that engine your going to have to buy a starter box. But try looking for a used one you might get a deal like thunderbirdjunkie said. Who nows you might get one for real cheap.

Ok. I found this[link=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6050470852&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1]Starter Box[/link]. and the cvr is a direct drop in using all of the same stuff. Oh and all my clutch stuff is on another car so I wanna get this, not really sure if the price is a good one seems expensive. never mind cant find it. but it was the ad2 clutch steup and it was like 36.99.

RE: OS 18TZ IN XXX-NT
Thats almost the exact same thing that i have. The only difference is where the white sticker is up front mine has a little circuit board ans stuff. But that will definitely work and for the price right now Is very good. I mean $10 for a starter box thats a great deal if it stays that low. I bought mine for $110 or $115ish Cant really remember because it was 4 years ago that i bought it.
But i cant really answer about the clutch as i don't have that particular clutch
Well good luck with the starter box hope the price stays low for ya

RE: OS 18TZ IN XXX-NT
I never had a problem with the clutch nut going on. It fit perfectly the first time. The only thing i can say is try it. I never even looked at the threads to tell you the truth. I just put it on and it gave me no problem going on and didnt give me a problem until it came loose those 2 or 3 times. Then i just used lokite and that solved that problem.
But if it does not fit on, im sorry that i gave you false information. It worked fine for me, I had no problems with it but the only thing i can say now is try it and if it does not fit, again I am sorry. I did think that you would have no problem with it.
I did not try in any way to mislead you. But once again i am sorry if it does not fit
