I wnat to get a new engine for my jato. I was thinking of getting the O.S. .18 TM. Is this engine more powerful and more reliable than the TRX 2.5? Also I heard that it needs mods to fit, but I read that it just drops right in to the revo/t-maxx. So would it fit just fine or what kind of mods would I need to do to it? Also should I get the one with the revo or t-maxx manifold?

I have not put one in to my Jato, but I do know OS motors are great. I have had an OS .12 and I have a OS .21 on my buggy now. If you get one for the Tmaxx it will fit. You just may have to get a different header than what it comes with. That should be easy...

Just got mine together yesterday. You need to change the the little piece on the carb where it connects to the linkage. You need ball connecter style. Tower has them. Also had to make new pipe hanger. The stock header pipe sticks out further than the 18TM pipe. Just repositioned the pipe with new hanger. IMO the os engine is much easier to deal with than the 2.5 or 3.3. (IMO) It is much faster than the 2.5. Can't really hold it wide open for long, I can't see it that far away. I went to a big church field that runs along the road. It sure is fun out running cars on the road.
