im very new to gas rc this is my first gas rc truck its a maximum st pro with the stock .16 engine in it its been running great starts up first pull everytime i took it out today and it ran kinda funny then died .... it seemed very hot and now i cant get it started again it pulls easy with glow plug out but i put it back in and it pulls very hard any idea what this could be ? i am kinda looking forward to taking it apart and seeing the inside.. but i dont want to do it unless its needed i am also useing a old glow plug that came with the truck ... i will pick a new one up asap and see if that helps.

That could very well be the problem.

BUT, if its overheating, you may be running too lean. Next time you get it running, try to make sure there is smoke coming out of the pipe at mid to top end. If there isn't, too lean.

well i just got it running again granted i still prolly need a new glow plug and yes ther is smoke comeing out at mid and top end i wasnt sure if that was right or not but now i no im not to lean i was worring about that my prob now is im customizing my 2 spur gears i kinda striped them a lil so ima dremel them a bit and see if i can get them to still work my LHS didnt have them of course ... duratrax and its old but they do have them orderd. iv read alot that this 2 speed tranny is a problem but other then striping spur gears i fail to see what else could be wrong with it granted i dont even really know how it works .. but so far its been working

Spurs sounds like a mesh problem.
