I would have done more research on it... I would have bought the new Nitro sport... But that one is fine for beginners!

The right choice is relative. If you enjoy and love working on that truck, then you made the right choice. There is always going to be pros and cons to every vehicle. Be patient and have fun. Do not give up when something breaks or does not start. More than likely the problem is real small. Good luck.

Being I have had one of these before, the one major problem you will experience is the engine overheating. Its pretty hard to avoid. The engine will take the abuse tho. Just take it really easy on the break in, hopefully that'll help prolong the engine's life.
If and when it does fail, what a better reason to get a nice sport engine for the truck. OS is the engine company to look at. They build engines that are nearly 100% noob proof. If you can wreck one of those, I'll be amazed.

i realy like mine, but i just got it to bash around in the backyard. The best part is you can up-grade it to the max. Im getting a new chassis for it now witch will make it more of a rustler i guess. Also, i droped a os.18 in it for more power. The pro 15 is a great motor IMO. It ran around 250s-270s but that was mine. there all deffernt. My brother has a stampeed with the pro15 and its , imsure over 5 years old. more to 7 im thinking. Never had to rebuild it or nothing. Have know idea how many gallons of nitro though it. been stored for years. He took it out one day and it cranked right one up and ran like a dream. Just use after run..

Just fyi the only thing new about the "new" nitro sport is the body and wheels. the rest of the truck is exactly how it was before.
it's a good solid beginner truck, and that engine is near bulletproof IMO.

The Traxxas gray plastic is actually stiffer than the black plastic. this should help keep you keep from popping shock caps.
I thought the NitroSport had all ball bearings since a couple years ago?

Well Guys
It finally arrived yesterday through UPS. I was told by several people that the engine runs a lot hotter than most others, so as for breaking in, which fuel do you all think would be best?

I wouldn't use Traxxas fuel to start a campfire.
O'donnell 20% Race Blend.

Well, I just got back from my LHS with a whole gallon on Traxxas 20% nitro. I guess that now all I can do is try it out and see what happens.
Wish me luck

While looking at this truck I couldn't help but notice that the tires had no inserts in them at all, and they were all glued to the rims by the factory. I'm thinking "What gives"?
I also found in the box, a big red balloon. Does anyone here know what purpose thin balloon is supposed to serve?

it's for smuggling heroin.
Seriously, it's to go around the receiver, since the rx sits out in the open, so you don't dump fuel all over it.
Also, I didn't know they were gluing the tires to the rims now! mine didn't have pre-glued tires
at any rate...it's a newbie truck...if it doesn't include something that you think it should have, that's in the name of being inexpensive.

Guy.. I just got back from my LHS. They said that those tires are attached to the rims with permanent cement and will rip apart if I try to remove them. They tried selling me some new ones complete with inserts, but they wanted over $40 for them. . I don't have the money right now and won't have it till next week, but if there is no other wy around it, I guess I'll have to buy from him.
I cant figure out why Traxxas would sell a brand new truck with tires that they know are useless?

Go to your LHS and get some CA debonder...and some tire glue. spray the debonder into the bead of your wheel and gently pull the tire away from the rim. then you can get your foam and have a ball

CA debonder will remove the glue as junkie said, although I would reccomend going to a hardware store and picking up some acetone in the solvent section. That is all CA debonder is, and they just repackage it smaller, label it as CA debonder and sell it in hobby shops for a 500% price increase over what you pay for it in a hardware store.
