RE: Jato, Pro's and Con's
IMO ... the jato handles well.... it is just over powered. With my 2.5 or 3.3 motor in it the truck is just good for bashing. With my RB V.12 in it I can get it more set for track traction... The truck is very adjustable. It is just hard to find that sweet spot for every track.
I have not had the issues with the rear shock towers like others have. IMO (or what I gather from reading what many people here and on traxxas say) many people are running very hard rear shocks and expecting the truck to do more than any ST can... I have broken one top plate. But that was learning how to do back flips... hehe... Since I have added the TRX upgrade chassis I have not broken any.

remember that the Jato and the MT2 SS will handle completely different. RWD ST trucks (all of them) are going to drive just as they are... high powered RWD trucks... For me that is the type of driving that I like. I like the truck hanging out there right on the edge.
The AWD trucks will be easier to drive...

Ok, thanks again. Also im looking for some tyres over here in the UK, but having trouble finding some decent ones. Has anyone got a link to any online store which stocks rims and tyres that fit the Jato?

Ran my first race ever only came in 3rd out of 5 but I was running against brushless trucks. All so my radio screwed up big time and had a mind of its own. Should have put my Spektrum in! But I can say with my slow MT I dusted the Jato!

You dusted a Jato? It was at the track though, it would have beaten you by miles if it was a straight track with very few bends.

don't get the traxxas red turnbuckels... unless you drive really really well. they are pretty weak and break easy. I would get the ones from lungsford.
the traxxas CVDs are great and the lightweight chassis is great also. I highly suggest both of those.

The tyres look very reliable, unfortunatly i live in the UK. So i guess it would cost a ton to ship and would take a long time getting to me.

hehe... control the jato with a 3.3 would come down to each person... how good they are at throttle control.
I have no problems with my jato running the 2.5 or 3.3 but for the track I go down to my RB V.12 ... the tracks I can go to are too loose for the power of either of the TRX motors...
here are a few pics of my jato:

People come into the shop every week with their Jato's. Seems like every time somebody brings one in, the upper tray is broken. There is a weak point...

Many people I take to have problems with breaking shock towers. I have seen this happen at our locale track. One was in the race this past Friday and my MT came in ahead of it every heat and in the main. They are fast but I prefer handling.
