Default Used Nitro Rustler

Hey guys. I have a chance to buy a used nitro rustler for $100. It has the original motor, tires and electronics but no top. They say it runs, but I have not been to see it yet. Does that sound like a good price for a used nitro rustler? I don't know much about them.

Yea, it all depends if it runs...you need to go check personally(if possible) If it is in good condition-Don't worry about tires, beat up rims, ect. because you're probably going to upgrade anyway, And if it does run and it is in good/ok condition, go buy it (you can see if you can talk him down, too). About the body, you can pick one up for $5.00(plus s/h) from www.traxxas.com.

Yup it all dependes, I was bidding on a used one, complete with accesories to run it, like the ez start, fuel bottle, rx battery pack charger and original box and inst. It was nice and clean, got sold for #200.00. New ones cost 280.00 or so.

The motor could be running, but does it have good compression, how many gallons of fuel went through it. For 100, a roller (w/o enginge) in good condition with electronics is a good deal, but if you can talk him down to lower it, then thats a better deal. You can get a new motor on ebay for less than 70$ and bodies usually cost around 15.00 for clear ones, and much more for painted ones - not $5.00. Its actually 18.00 plus s/h from traxxas.com for a clear one and 34.99 for the Prografix.

Just my opinion

See if you can get some pics so we can have a good idea on how it looks.

Here are the two picture of it I have seen. They are small and it's really hard to see much of anything about it. It supposedly has a "newer" pipe and wiring. I emailed the lady and she seems to think it's worth $150-$200 and came off like she thinks she is selling it too cheap. I think I will call and offer her $75 for it anyway and email her my phone number so she can call me if she doesn't sell it. See what you guys think from the pictures. It would probably be a blast on dirt.

I did, and there is no $5.00 body anywhere in traxxas.com. Read your own post. Traxxas.com is different from buytraxxas.com

You should have posted that link the first time.

Really? Then go ahead and try to that rustler body for 5$ from traxxas.com.

Yest its a traxxas website, but that's not their retail parts website.

Traxxas.com is the Manufacturer's website, they can only sell to wholesale distributors. Traxxas does stock and sell all repair and replacement parts for all Traxxas models. You can order parts directly to traxxas, but you'll pay the list price, through mail, fax and phone only.

buyTraxxas.com is the online retail parts store by traxxas. The rustler body is only 5 bucks becuase its their featured product on special right now.

All I'm trying to say, If you want to post a link, make sure its the right one.

Oh, come on...there is a banner on traxxas.com to buytraxxas.com, I assumed people were smart enough to click on that banner, but apparently someone wasn't.

Dude, I realized that when I wrote my second post, I was clarifying it so people could find it easier--- "Heres the body $5.00+s/h- http://www.buytraxxas.com/product_info.php?products_id=2504" ---Sorry for the confusion[&:]
