RE: rc10gt or jato?
well i was in the same decision as you just that my choices were those plus the nitro evader st i ended up ordering the evader(because it was the cheapest) but its not here yet. First of all which jato are you talking about the 3.3 or 2.5 and also which rc10gt the one without the engine(if so what engine you plane on geting) or the rtr?

I would say if you are just doing like drag racing I would go with the jato. Off road racing I would probably go with the rc10gt, I believe the rc10gt would be far easier to maintain as it is much simpler in design.

RE: rc10gt or jato?
well, you said durable so lets cross the jato off the list. if you ask me, it has too much power. i say get the rc10gt. cheaper (alot cheaper in the long run too), more durable, fast, and easily upgradable. plus it has along history and is proven as a basher and a racer. good luck with whatever you decide.

yea the jato is kind of stuffed in the chassis so it can be hard to maintain sometimes but it is fast and durable. ive jumped it cart roller fliped and abunch of other stuff to it.the only thing ive broke so far was my 1 of my front a-arms b/c i ran into a fence post not paying attetion.go here to find out how the jato was doing racing http://www.traxxas.com/support/index...514&artlang=en i have no knowledge of the rc10gt.i heard they are very durable but a lil out dated

RE: rc10gt or jato?
I would stay with the rc10gt. It has a long history of kicking but in races and is durable. The jato is stuffed and the power plant is questionable. As for the mt2. I would suggest against it my next door neighbor had one and all it did was give him problems. But then again my next door neighbor is an idiot and it could have been him and not the truck.
But I would still stay with the rc10gt.

The FTGT(2) AND THE LOSI XXXNT-AD2 and the Mugen ST1 are race vehichles everything else is a back yard basher. Decide what direction and pick accordingly.
Althought the Jato is of excellent design for racing I wish more pro-level drivers were testing and coming up with setups. If we had more help from factory drivers it would probably do very well on the race track.

nobody like the poor poor JATO. I find other than the plastic drive shafts it is very duable and a quick agile ST. I can figure out why everyone bashes it??? is it cuz its Traxxas cuz then I understand lol. I've had other STs and ultimatly decided JATO was for me

Actually Bane I looked real hard last winter at the Jato. I chose the Losi due to racing type support, which is what I do...race. I dont have the funds or paitience to play with the truck and get it hooked up...I wanna race and I wanna race right now!!!!!! [>:]

RE: rc10gt or jato?
The rc10gt does not need a starter box if you get the rtr. The rtr comes with a pull start i do believe. I think the GT comes out at about 30 mph or pretty close around there as for the mt2 i have no idea.
I still say go with the GT

My Jato with the single speed conversion beat the brakes off of my cousins GT and Rustler [>:].As far as durability it's ok, but I've made upgrades. Go with the Jato.

GT goes faster then 30mph...lol. When I bought mine stock(Ages ago, before all these fancy chassis) it went around 40mph...but what good is speed offroading? Unless you have a straight away on a road or really flat dirt, there is no need for 50+mph when you are jumping off ramps and landing in mud.

RE: rc10gt or jato?
What kind of speeds does the MT2 get? It looks like a nice setup, but I've never played with HPI nitros. I've only got my original RC from them - electric Dash.
