Is the jato just the new version from traxxas of the nitro rustler? Because they havent been making any new models of the rustler and I have been wondering why?

The Traxxas Jato is the next generation of 1/10th scale stadium truck. The suspesion, differentials, transmission, and steering etc... are all different plus it screams.

Yea, my friend has a rustler and well he wishes he had a JAto =). The jato goes faster, better designed, has the 2 speed wich sounds cool, got mine to go 52 MPH with blue thunder, thats all my LHS carries besides Traxxas stuf and well the otha hobby shop carries trinity but my mom does not like to travel 30 mins for one tank of fuel. The suspension on the jato is much better, and it jumps alot better too. Lemmy explain it in a different way. Jato=new car-NItro Rustler=old car. Usuallly the newer one that has been newly disigned with the latest tecnology is better.

It all come down to money guys . Just how much do you want to spend to go fast ? Even an old tired Rusty can womp on some of the new stuff if it's got the goodies in in it .

Rustler is tough. A bit clumsy to today's standards, but very solid. I've had mine for a long time, it's the one with the white dish wheels and dull-colored aluminum, before they were using the blue chassis or EZ start. Never had to open up the gearbox, or mess with the suspension. The original engine was scrapped though (good riddance).

I have had a rustler and now have a jato 3.3 and the new jato stops all over the rusty..and not just cuz of the insane power..the handling and suspention..not to mention they are ultra smooth in the air....in my mind there is no compairing the 2

the jato 3.3 is awesme i barely finished he breaking in process today, i havent even tweaked the carb for max performance and im only using 10% airplane fuel, and its handfull compared t my brothers 2.5 Rustler
also the trasmission shifts wayyy too late i need to read the manual for that one

My friend has a 3.3 in his rustler and he had to get steel spur gears because the plastic ones stripped to easily. He also had to get a wheelie bar because the engine had so much power. That car flys down the road at like 65 mph!! One time the radio frequency was lost and the car took off. My friend hit a car tire at like 50 mph and it broke the suspension arm,the shock, the shock tower, and the turnbuckle. The 3.3 in the rustler really isnt a good choice you should get like an os .16 or somethin like that.

My rustler with a 2.5r absolutely crushed two jatos at the dirt track last sunday. Jatos are just too overpowered for a small to medium sized track, IMO. On the street however the jatos were running circles around my rusty.

mine has sooo much i almost regret buying it, its very hard to controll, especially on dirt/gravel, i need to buy better rear tires, the stock anacondas suck, and i need to add some weight to the front to keep the front tires down

I have the bow ties. They seem to stick pretty good in the dirt. But to the guy who says he strips out the spur gears all the time, he needs to learn to set the gear mesh. I'm using the original 70 t that came with the car. I did blow out the outdrives once though. But I like to have the power when I want to test my driving ability. I do want a Jato though. I am selling my rusty on ebay to raise funds for a jato. The boss only allows me to have one at a time. Damn!!!

Note to you traxxas owners, especially the 3.3 guys.
Traxxas uses the 2.5 conrod in the 3.3 which is very weak for that engine. Traxxas recommends that you replace it every 3 gallons, thats if the engine lives that long. Not doing so will certainly end the life of your engine much sooner.
