hi! well, i am thinking of buying the mt2 18ss. i'm a newbie in this hobby so i need a car that is pretty easy to work with.
so i wanted to know how hard this car is to handle with. how hard it is to tune and start the car?
(i didnt find any posts about this)

That’s funny as there is an over 300-page thread on the MT2 on this page. One of the longest threads on this whole site.
Now to answer your questions I would have to know you abilities to know how hard it would be for you as any nitro to a new comer is a learning experience. For me it would not be a problem. You defiantly are on the right track as the best MT2 is the .18SS much better then the RTR!

yeah its about 300 pages on the official mt2 threat, and i tried to find something about this but seriously, after 20 pages of searching it had gone nearly an our!
my friend had a savage and i helped him build it and tried to start it. this savage ss was so freaking hard to start, and wen it finally started it was so hard to stay there and if we did something with the throttle it just went crazy. so he sold it and bought a traxxas jato, and that truck was so easy to start compared to the savage that it was scary. the break in was very easy, and it starts every time he put that ez starter in it
. so thats really what i want to know if the 18ss is surely much easier to work with and start, like the jato.
yeah i heard that the 18ss is a much better car

The .18ss is an absolutely horrible engine. Mine lasted one gallon and it has horrible compression from the start. Sell the engine right away and get a .12/.15/.18 cvr.
The .18ss kit is good because you get some good bits with it. The upgraded drivetrain is NEEDED for any powerplant, the RTR is useless. Shim your diffs.

This was my first car, and I have to agree that the .18ss engine caused me a lot of problems, so I bought a .18cv-rx, and that thing was soo much easier to deal with.. But HPI was kind enough to send me a brand new .18SS with the purple heatsink, which runs awesome now.. And since your new, I would probably buy a rotostart..
Now I love this car, and I can't get enough of it...

I have seen some problems with it but in skilled hands I have seen them go 5 gallons and run fairly well. They do have a tendency to run hotter then most. First thing I would do if you have not done it is seal it.
