Default Snow Rustler

Well I want to get my Nitro Rustler ready for the snow!!!. All the electronics are done and nothing to worry about there. I am getting these tires for the back : http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXDT99&P=K These Skis for the front: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXDT99&P=K I am getting a new body so there will be no cooling holes in it until the summer. What should I use to wrap my cooling head in to get the temps up to norm?

Thanks,
Blitzz

People use socks, duct tape (the foil kind), aluminum foil. Anything that keeps or reflects heat will work. BTW, what skis are you getting?

The skis that are linked there in my post. I am trying to decide if I should get the 7" ones or the 9" ones. What do you think would be better?

No, they're both sand paws. 9in, more surface area.

Ok sorry about that...my only concern is that my servo wont turn the 9 inch ones. Link for Skis: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXDCT4&P=K <<<7 Inch

What servo you have. Actually, I think 7" is enough if not too long.

How do you propose to mount those? I would love to do that!
Just a hole with some washers I would guess?

I have a set for my plane already. If you look at a picture of them u can see a block comes up from the ski. You will have to drill the hole bigger so your axel will move freely in it. Then you put washers on each side like a wheel and snug the nut up.

You could get the Panther or Pro-Line front tires made for sand. I think they would do better.

I tried the MOKAWK tires on the front. The wouldnt work for anything. Then I went with the exact same setup that you have listed here. Ive ran it 3 winters already and just getting ready for their 4th. Dont expect to go in deep snow, just stick to the roads and plowed areas. I also got 4 Proline TMaxx Paddles and truggy wheels for my OFNA LX Comp Buggy. I cant wait to try them out!!!

Toxic I think I see two types of air filters or colors of them. What filter is that, it looks sweet.

If anyone has ever tried the ski idea, let us know. I really want to try it! Those trac-ta-gators work real well though...

It's a GPM ll . the reason it looks differnt in one of the pics is cuz I took out the paper part of the filter so it would no get wet and turn to mush.

I tryed skis but it was such a pain to mount them so they don't spin around on the axle shaft and end up upside down.( can you say nasty wipe out ? )
they tend to want to seek at high speed and that can make for a twitchy side to side slap that can get down right mid-evil on yer *****. But yeah dude they are kinda fun but I still like tires better

I have the set which comes with a apring. It doesnt allow the ski to turn and when it wheelies, it puts down force on the back of the ski to keep it from tipping foward. When I get a chance Ill take some pics and post them. The work awsome and Im getting ready for my 4th winter on them.
