It is wanting to start sounds like, but I'm not sure about the loud pops. And these engines can't backfire.

How many gallons are on the motor? Was the EZ-Start pack charged? Is the plug good? etc..

How many gallons on it? Or maybe pints or whatever in your case.

get a new glow plug, regardless what yuor wand says, make sure your eazy-start is charged, put the carb back to new settings(high speed-tighten in until resistance is felt, then back out 4 turns,idle-1 1/2 tunrs out, and the screw on the carb slider should be even with the shoulder.)do you use after run oil? since you dont run it often, maybe shuold add an extra drop in the glow plug hole and dont run the exces out. I usually have to go thru one charged stick in the starter,(when its cold, I dont run every day as well, and I use wd-40) then grab another, then it will start easy, maybe get another battery for you ez start. also, keep your truck and gas inside. if your gas gets cold, it will gell. and if its old gas, its just not the same as new.also, dont put unran gas back in your gas container. I dont know if this helps, I dont know what youve done already. good luck
