Default Quick power question....

Im running a hpi rush with a bunch of hop ups including an OS 18... one thing i havnt bought is a rechargeable hump pack. However, laying around i have a 9.6v 8 cell NiCd pack.. What will happen if use this on the rush's stock reciever.. the servo's are both aftermarket futabas. any suggestions?

I'm not positive, but I think that you would probably fry something.

Yeah you can break it open and pop two cells out. Just watch the soldering gun's proximity to the battery when doing this. You don't want to fry the cells.

7.2 will most likely fry it.. drop it down to 5 cell and you will be fine.

I do believe if you look most receivers that post a voltage have a maximum of 6 to 6 ½ volts. Correct me if I am wrong. That is why most receiver packs are 6 volts. A good 6-volt receiver pack is a lot cheaper then having to replace a receiver.

Don't go any higher than 6 volts. Just look at servos they give power ratings at 4.8 and 6 volts, nothing higher, probably means you will fry something. Get a new servo if you want more power. Thats what I did. Now I have 195oz. of torque in my ST at 6 volts with my 5 cell pack.
