the jato is very uncontrolable it is like an unguided missile. i had originaly wanted the jato but ive read review on it and i=ts not very good. now i have a revo 3.3 and its alot better thaqn a jato. dont get the jato just because you want to get up with the 4 tec. get a car that you will like not just to keep up to it if you like to jump and bash then get a monster truck like a revo or t-maxx if you race then get a mantis or kyosho inferno or a buggy of some sort

pm me if you need some help

jato works good the setup out of the box aint real good mid mount the rec. batt and lower it down some and it will handle. as far as 70 mph on road look into a nova rossi ns15s5 in it. it fits pretty easy. or im just starting to experiment with an eb mods os 18 tm. either one will out run a 3.3 so far. im still working on gearing for either motor. i need a 32 tooth bell. but as far as it being uncontrolable you have to work with it a little.

I dont know what reveiw that was , but evrything I have read about the JATO 3.3 has been positive .

I have a JATO 3.3 and its a blast too drive ! Its true that while you're on the gas it doesnt turn well , but thats because the front wheels are not touching the ground ! Off the throttle the JATO turns quite well .

The stock JATO 3.3 tires are not for the dirt though , so if you want to go off road you'll need an extra set of wheels . On road the Anaconda tires stick great .

Here is my JATO 3.3 with a few mods ....

Dont know if changing the clutch/spur gear would help on the top or not , it should I think .....

i do how ever agree with this. the tires are meet for the street. traxxas says that its an on/off road car but it really isnt unless you but some different tires because in grass on dirt you have no traction. i had thought about puitting a set of dirt tires in back and keep the stock ones in the front for on/off road but then i thought that it wasnt so good

and that review KRO was simple and easy to understand. i read some reviews and watched some videos and i didnt think it was that great simple

Thanks sunco1 , I dont try to B.S. people , if something sucks I will tell you .

So far my JATO 3.3 has been a great , though I have only ran maybe 1/2 a gallon through it before it got too cold around here .

BTW I picked a set of Nitro Rustler wheels on Ebay for 23 dollars shipped and they worked awesome in the dirt and bolted right up to my JATO .

My son has a REVO 3.3 and in a drag race the REVO will keep up with the JATO ............................................. For the first 10 feet !

Seriously , if you want something that is on/off road capable and has a terrific power to weight ratio , the JATO 3.3 is the ticket IMO .

Well I have read all of the post's and some of the things I agree to. If you want just pure speed then a JATO would be a good pick. But I dont think the Jato will really stay with the 4tec 3.3. It's an on road car, so if you want something that can stay wwith a 4yec buy an on-road car, the Jato may be able to stay with it in top speed, but it wont handle like the 4tec will.

As far as there being no negative threads about the Jato you must have been in lala land for a little while as there have been nagative threads about them. Infact there is one specific thread that I can think of that some where saying that the 3.3 jato would stay with the Team Losi's and AE's on a track, and we went on and on about it and some of the things you have to do to get it race ready and how the 3.3 tires ballon and then rip to shreads. But the point is there have been some negative threads about it.

But if the Jato is what you want then go ahead and get it, it's a good truck for speed, now I think it will stay with the 4tec in top speed but I think the 4tec will out accelerate it and will handle much better, but thats just what I'm thinking. But if straight out speed is what you want then go ahead and get it.

PLEASE dont start that racing crap again ! He is talking about parking lot/street bashing with his buddies 4 Tec NOT competitive racing .

I have a HPI RS4 RTR and its fun to take it out and do speed runs up and down the sreet and drifting is fun too , for a while . But they get stuck easy , and if you dont have a relatively smooth surface to run on they can bouce and tumble all over the place .

And I said all the REVEIWS were positive about the JATO , not some of the biased opinions you see on this forum .

IF he wanted to take it outta the box and go to his local track to race then I wouldnt be recomending the JATO 3.3 because I myself think the RC10GT2 and the Losi XXXT are better racers , but for bashin on/off road the JATO 3.3 is a rush too drive . If he didnt ALREADY have a Muggy I would say get a LST2 or a REVO 3.3 , those 2 trucks are the BEST ALL AROUND nitros on the market right now . IMO

Well I wanted to say that there have been negative post's about them and thats more or less it. Now I'm not as biased as you think I am or I would have said to get a xxx-nt right off that bat and say the Jato is crappy but I didnt. As I said the Jato for pure out speed is a good truck, I think it will stay with it in top speed but will not stay with the 4tec while trunginat higher speed's and I dont think it will accelerate as fast as the 4tec will. But for this application for what you want I think the Jato will be your best bet. Now as I said before I think more then just a motor swap will have to be done to make it get to those speed's. But as I said I think your Jato will be your best bet if thats what you want.

jato is designed for off/on road, if bein compete to on road cars such as 4tec, jato needs on road set-up like lowering the CG, change to on road tires with smaller diameter, change the suspension to firmer, spoilers needed to have more downforce for more traction....it's really difficult to test cars/truck when they are in different class.

The Jato tires are made more for on-road then they are made for off-road. You dont need a spoiler that just helps, lowering the vehicle is not that hard it just onvolves taking the shocks apart and taking some fuel tubing and cutting them to the lengths needed and place them on the shock shaft. For firmer suspension just get new spring, as for the smaller diameter tires you dont need them.

But you dont need to do any of this if you dont want to, thats just if you want it to handle a little better while traveling at speeds.

The Jato doesn't seem to be that bad. I run (bash) with a couple of guys with 3.3's. As far as brute speed, my RC10 RTR with the stock AE .15 will outrun either of them from a dig-that is, until they hit second gear. Lucky for me, we run in small lots.

i love my jato. i have in the past maybe 7 months ago beat a 4 tec several times. but now with my new upgrades the super charger and the combination of the pipe it will even harder for the 4 tec to take me. i'm dying to get a race. i'm going back home to new orleans for mardi gras and thats where i had all my wins in drag including the 4 tec. so i can't wait to try it out on them.

I wouldnt go to insane about the Super Chargers, they simply dont work. There have been so many threads about this, especially in the rc engine forum where there's a 3 or 4 page debate about S C and if they even will work on 2 strokes. For one thing the Rb SC is not really a SC it's more like a little fan connected to a rubber bad, and that little fan does not creat a whole lot of actualy boost. And all the boost that it does create simply goes in the intake and out the exhaust.

Now your saying well it does make a lot of boost Ok lets say it does. The pressure inside of the cylinder when the piston moves down creates a low pressure system in the exhaust. Where there's low pressure, the higher pressure will try and go. The fuel/air mixture then rushes into the cylinder causing a high air pressure system. That means the charge will again just simple go out the exhaust because the high air pressure systems tryies to escape to the low pressure system.

Now your saying that you have a tuned pipe, well if the SC makes any kind or real charge the returning preesure wave will be nothing for the chrage that is escaping out the exhaust. So what happens, is the returning pressure waves will slow down the charge that is escaping from the cylinder. So in a sence yes it does provide a little more power, but the higher Center of Gravity and the extra weight of the SC itself, along with the power that is needed to power the SC takes away any and all power gains and makes the truck slower then when you didnt have it on. Plus they waste so much gas it's not funny as the fuel/air mixture just escapes making less run times for you on the tank of fuel.

So in the end there worth nothing more then having it on a shelf queen to make it look a little better. As for traxxasrules thats fine thats your opinion, but you dont need to put it in big red letters. Thats a bit obnxious, I except that fact that, thats your opinion but again you can use regular text and dont use all caps.

wow...just so you know, THERE ARE NO GAINS FROM BOOSTING A 2 STROKE MOTOR

why would you put a supercharger in it?
