Default Help Engine!!

Hey guys I just put in my OS. 18CV-R and tried to start it up. It had started but then the starter box couldnt move the flywheel. So then I tried to turn it over with my finger and nothing, I couldnt do it. So I take it out and I had to wrestle it to get it unstuck from top dead center. Is this normal?? I tried it again and then same thing happened, I started it then it died and then it wouldnt turn over so I took it out again.

Whats wrong? This is a brand new engine.

this engine has a good amount of pinch at top dead center. It'll feel like this until you get through a few tanks.

Take a hair dryer or a heat gun and heat the engine up, this will aleviate some of the pinch and will stop this from happening. I had the same problem with my .18CVR and this solved the problem. You only have to do this for the first 4 or 5 tanks after those tanks it should be good to go. You can also put some ARO in the engine to help lubericate the engine. You only have to warm the engine till it gets good and warm, warm enough that you can hold the heat sink but not for more then a second or to, that how I tell when it's good to go and try.

Get back to us on how things go.

When you heat the engine up with a hair dryer it doesnt get stuck at TDC. When mine got stuck before I started using the hair dryer method I just moved the piston past TCD via my finger turning the flywheel. As said in my earlier post just heat the engine up with a hair dryer till it's nice and hot then try it, you shouldnt have any problems having the engine to turnover.
